  1. welcome bertie to the tree monkey forum for all you monkeys out there

  2. Sunday, hubby and the boys went for a walk with our GSD to a local beauty spot - signs everywhere "keep dogs on leads" - only ours was on a lead- infact our little boy was pushed off the stepping stones into the water by a loose dog running a muck, luckily just filled a wellie - but could have been worse. rohan gave the owner a stern word, but it goes on deaf ears!
  3. could easy get piston and liners for a 35 and even a new head - try either old parts 20, or fergiland both near derby - if you google them, we regularly rebuild old tractors and i would imagine pistons liners and engine kit and new block about £600 quid all insell or sell it to us to rebuild and refurb:lol: joy
  4. we have used them and still have some to use, we dont like them as much as the bags, as they are a single use seasoning method, they cannot be re-used and so we think them wasteful for their cost, also we have found they deteriorate outside in uv and are not uv stable, we found filling them in may and moving them august the bags fell to bits and were a waste of time as all the logs fel on the floor and had to be rehandled we will only use as a last resort if all our bags are full. joy
  5. definately - yes please - sounds interesting, useful and a chance to meet for arbtalkers!

  10. trouble is at the moment and this economic climate theres going to be more and more sharks out there - and ones you didnt expect, not just the get rich quick lads large companies ripping small one man band ones off, consultants and grantwork/grandfunding, so called council officials ripping off work and the brown envelope brigade. - i could go on working ethicaly and honestly leaves you short of money and with no work! my 2penneth joy
  11. well - got it all back now - well what they left us! which was just the softwood, all hardwood disappeared so after weighing the job up its cost us and not made anything! - welcome to the world of forestry setup stealth camera, but too late, moved to get the rest back that night and just kept going, but after a tyre ragged to bits its turned into a costly job! next time we will get it out asap and i think marking all the timber ends is a good tip, we have done this before but tought this site was too remote - how wrong can you be, and will also setup the stealth camera thanks for all the replies - all the best joy

  15. yes after a week of the lads winching timber out of a steep gulley, i go and replace the timberstack signs today that have been "stolen" and find most of the hardwood stacks placed ready to be collected this weekend have gone! again the timber fairies have been at work, it angers me so much, when we pay our mens wages to work hard and extract this wood, to find most of the decent stuff nicked from under our feet! who are these people who think timber just appears free to collect from trackside if any one has hardwood or softwood to sell close to us, please give us a shout- and i have contacted the ebayer selling larch near stoke - he doesnt answer his phone or answermessages
