  1. hope your getting paid day rate or by cubic metre, as surely by weight youll be short on the dry log from the windblow etc, and buyers will make a killing as the weights will be light against you
  2. deforestation in north Wales what the hells going on here !! - this sounds legit, and all done by the sounds of it by a bona fide contractor should it read - clear fell north wales
  3. so you want someone to come out with all their kit and insurance and employee costs and fuel costs etc and fell and cut up these loveley poplars and then pay for the value of the wood so what value do you think is in these poplars = less than zero cost of work = more than zero ergo no go = dont think youll have any takers sorry dont mean to sound flippant but we get this all the time and its very frustrating joy
  4. we can offer you softwood log nets , on pallets 60 per pallet, if you have a local haulier who wants to pick up, prefer collection but at a push we can deliver 5 pallets = 300 if thats any good, softwood larch logs £1.80 pr net collected
  5. tony asked me for my old tights last year - i thought is he being cheeky - but no - puts them over the tractor air intake as an additional dust filter for the sawdust in the air joy
  6. our friend has finished his "doe triple D" fergie - thats if doe would have made one - this is what it would have looked like , we tested and practising its first ploughing with it , the 4 furrow plough they were buying hadnt arrived yet, so its got a borrowed 2 furrow just for test purposes on and to see if it does really work, and it will be demo'd at the local ploughing match, 5th October in Derbyshire. - I believe from seeing it plough it has already been sold:thumbup: - well done master mechanic Ken and Steve for all your hardwork on this project:thumbup: cost of project - 2 scrap petrol/tvo fergies out of hedge bottoms - £400, steel and centre pivot from i believe a muck spreader FOC scrap, and FOC for sandblast and paint job as favours. all done properly i hasten to add, both tractors can be started from sitting on the seat, both clutches engage at same time and gears can be selected both at same time.

  11. the pinossa that was on show but not setup at apf last year on the fuelwood stand had already been sold and was moving direct from apf to its new home at matlock, derbyshire - believe the company is called something like hardwood logs of lea, nr matlock.
  12. we've got some large pieces we are wanting milling for repairing our trailers etc and some for re-sell after milled - possibly slabs etc and blanks for turners. - large oak, pine and yew with a big beech but also to slab, so thinking best a lucas / peterson type setup? anybody available to travel to our yard and give me a day rate for milling, see what we can achieve for a couple of days say? we have labour and machinery available to help with moving timber etc located Uttoxeter just off A50, Staffs - please pm me if interested thanks joy
  13. kype - member on here, kenny hes around that area - great firewood merchant and top man - pm him
  14. nothing suprises me any more, not after a 22 year old thought Churchill sold insurance and was some sort of accountant. it shows to me that they want to wear the gear and look like tree monkeys but not love trees or want to know about them - theres more and more like that - just had one!
  15. we can offer you log nets, but the haulage might kill the price? unless you know of someone close to you wanting a return load from the midlands?? - pm me if interested we can offer you seasoned softwood in garage forecourt size nets 45x60cm and kindling if you wanted a mixed load 40x50cm
  16. well dave youve inflammed alot of interest here:001_tt2:, we do logs as a full time business our forestry feeds into the firewood and tree work is our sideline. keep on logging dave:thumbup: - all the best joy (ps i try and answer the phone as quick as possible or ring back asap)
  17. loads of circa early 20th century blacksmiths nails, a matchbox porsche car, a stone embedded in a tree, concrete, bricks, etc
  18. tw's good tractor and would get you moving for 5k ish for a good one, it will hold its money for a trade in or resell when more funds for a fastrac or mog come up plus if your only moving about a 6 mile radius you wont bother to need to go faster, its not worth it, comfort ok if you go steady some have air con fitted and got a good large cab in the tws - cheaper on insurance as the value of the tractor and age affects the premium and less nickable im guessing, easier to fix, less electrics and second hand parts readily available from breakers etc and ford dealers
  19. 1m3 of larch from me at the moment is £65 plus 5% VAT, all my prices will be going up from 1.9.11 tho.
  20. gensetseteve on here uses them hes in hampshire i think - give him a shout or he may see this thread later
  21. i am up against a local seller who sells a load or a double load, no mention of volume or how many cube in his load, i asked a friend to ask how many cube you get in a load and his reply written on the back of a business card is 4 tonney bags , surely this must be trade description as his "load" is half his truck with a board across the middle and his double load is the full truck load a renault tipper.
  22. may be a bit far from you , but we are 2 minutes off the A50 at Uttoxeter if you are the Derby side of Nottingham - can take chip and logs
  23. sorry ,but that sounds absolute twoddle, middle class people are not the ones looting and setting fire to cars, you can tell these are just itinerant yobs, its the middle class people who wont have work to go to in the morning because their shop or factory has been burned out and their car set alight
  24. its disgusting and frightening and even more so when my two children are seeing it on the television and my 5 year old is frightened and telling me that theyve set another car on fire and throwing things at the policeman - where are the parents of these so called protestors. its just an excuse to loot and riot, get the army in, watercannon, tazers and rubber bullets and lets get back to corporal punishment - a good flogging and national service for these so called youngsters with nothing to do. awful, clock work orange ?
  25. we have a transit tipper and can only get in 3 cube heaped up and you know youve got the weight on, if we left inthe cube bags you wuld only manage to get about 4 side by side and weight wise would be on its knees. i can only imagine hes doing it on a very short journey or got 6 square metres worth on and not 6 cube?
