  16. done an emergency job yesterday, today - well will finish cleaning up tomorrow, the customer now back peddling over payment - surely what youve got in timber will pay the bill, i cant pay anyway til my husband comes back and we really dont have that sort of money put to one side to cover the tree, ! not overdone, infact done it too cheap had 4 men, 2 climbers ,2 ground staff yesterday had 6 today, 2 climbers & 4 groundies will leave 3 tomorrow to clear up about 6 loads of chip and an artic of timber all great haulks of wood , the price was agreed upon before start of job, infact we gave her a price and knocked 400 quid off which in hind sight we shouldnt of just to get the job, which others turned their noses up as it was too big fed up now with domestic customers had too many bad eggs:sneaky2: we had visited and quoted when one branch failed and hit her garage, then when second fell and hit her discovery 4, she called us in quick and agreed at the price there and then, as we could get monday to start. a fed up joy
  17. never thought of that market yeti, what a cracking idea, we promote ours at little shows etc, but never sold that many all the best - joy
  18. im sure i saw that japa on ebay a good few months back - pretty certain it was the same pic.
  19. we do a few every few months and keep them in the poly tunnel, to get them bone dry, so easier to light and catch, plus lighter to move, once bone dry easy to light with either a burning ember or a firelighter, the really big ones, we strap up at the top to stop them banana peeling apart, only ever used softwood , and then only the notty horrible stuff we'd reject through the stack for being too short for the decks (12') so we do large 8' and small 12" ones and everything in between, any wood will do as long as its dry and kept dry
  20. bit of a tip, we supply them with a wrapped fire lighter the sort you light the wrapper, so the customer just pops the firelighter over the top cross on top of the log and light - simples and clean for the customer, or put a bbq charcoal on the top and blow the sides to ignite. joy
  21. we usually light them about 4pm ish and they stay going albeit alot smaller but still warm til about midnight, early on in the night the chairs are well back come 11pm the chairs are close up:thumbup: the smaller ones, we cook on regular in winter , bacon etc and then mash the brew:thumbup: joy - or should i say i cook - the lads watch on:sneaky2:
  22. we sell small ones for about £5 and large ones we deliver and dig in for about £30 - regularly burn them at night, keeps the midges away and loveley and toastie when the suns gone down
