  18. ROOT OUT ROOT OUT is now only sold as a Compost Accellerator. It is no longer to be sold as or used for killing tough woody weeds, tree stumps and brambles. ROOT OUT can be used as a spray or as crystals on your compost heap and works well with most compostable material especially those that need added Nitrogen. PRICES 908g £13.98 inc P&P to most UK mainland 2.27Kg £27.96 inc P&P to most UK mainland 5Kg £47.94 inc P&P to most UK mainland 10Kg £84.00 inc P&P to most UK mainland 25 Kg £120.00 inc P&P to most UK mainland Some prices vary according to location (eg. Scotland and Islands) Children and pets need not be excluded from the treated area Good and safe source of Nitrogen Ideal for tough woody weeds, brambles and other compostable material Use as crystals or as a solution Not a fire hazard Usage ROOT OUT has had its approval for use as a pesticide (herbicide, weed, tree and bramble killer) withdrawn by EU and National Authorities. Its use as indicated by the RHS to help prevent the spread of Honey Fungus (Armilleria) is not claimed by Dax Products. ROOT OUT is a very safe produce to use and is ideal as a compost accelerator. It also has uses as a flame retardant and in the plastics industry. above googled off internet
  19. trouble is alot of chemicals were withdrawn a few years ago, you can still get Stump killers but may be sold through arb suppliers as as with all these chemicals there are more controls over them now than ever, or try a large garden supplies/centre
  20. as i understand it, and i do use a chainsaw, i have always hand sharpended, the lads dont use grinders as we have to sharpen our chains in the forest by hand when dull, and if using a mechanical sharpener/grinder it heats the blade unless you buy a really expensive one or are very accurate using it, once the tip is hot or blued you cant then get that tip sharp using a hand file again, its tempered it joy
  21. cut stumps level with ground, use root out powder, highly toxic, use gloves, the powtder is only effective as soon as the tree is cut as the rising sap dissolves the crystals of the root out, so it has to be done fairly quickly, then cover with a plastic bag and secure with a tie so that animals and birds and rain cannot get to the root out, leave and let the chemical start working, will still take a few months to work
  22. i whole heartedly agree andy, and no im not patting you on the back or smiley facing - just agreeing with your post - it makes sense and i hope others see your post for what it is, honesty
  23. better do a bit of dray poking then:lol:
  24. squirrel damage trying to heal over on middle pic, lower trunk damage, sheep grazing on the bark, happens alot on poor grazing and sometimes they just get a taste for it, will heel over, but remove stock or fence
  25. or is it we pay more in NI and tax than any other country, we after all have the best NHS system in the world dont we?? in US you get more dollar, but you have to have your own health insurance etc do we have a better standard of living dont know joy
