Roh did one the other week, got to the cat, grabbed it via its scruff ready to put in his rope bag, it tried to twist itself in knots Roh had to let go or it was going to strangle itself it then bit him so he dropped it, it hit every branch falling through the tree, landed and ran off, thinking it was going to die, roh was really apologetic to the owners but later that night it came back no worse for wear and is alright Rohs hands a mess, thumb swollen up - wont bother with cat rescues again joy

i would say oak weighing v. heavy and being so dense from our experience 10t would give you 12 -14 cubic bags, depending if you shake the bags, fil them to the top etc, we always shake ours several times when filling with the loadall and dome them full so that the next bag sits well ontop and doesnt sag. it has happened that we have weighed out m3 bags with some oak and they weigh nearly a tonne! whereas sycamore will be more like 500kg drying to 300kg over summer. joy

if you are local to us tracy, we can deliver a full transit tip load which carries 2 cubic metres prices as follows; larch £126 mixed wood 50/50 larch and hardwood £157.50 hardwood £189 all are seasoned ready to burn and include 5% VAT and local delivery can do 1 cubic metre, half a load simply halve the price. plus we do nets and sticks, barrow bags etc, call me and we can discuss if you like thanks yours joy yeomans on 07971 220186 yard mobile - deliveries usually within 24 hours from ordering.

my uncle swears by his aebi - hope its spelt right sounds like letter A and B - AB, he has a mulching head on and does motorway banks etc with ease

clear bramble with a strimmer and then fence and let pigs in for a bit, they will clear all the roots and leave a lovely tilth to plant in plus fertilize and get fattended up pigs at the end - organic as well

hi alycidon, no the conveyor Rohan bought from a farm sale was a corn elevator top end and he converted to hydraulic motor off back end of tractor , and the extensions to legs my cousin welded on in order to heighten the deck and the saw so we could have enough depth to put in the conveyor to take sawdust away - we are really pleased with how its gone - and in hindsight should have done it years ago! -

kindling sticks as in gensetsteves avatar pic above, we cut make 8" sticks and fill a 40x50 mono filament net with them and sell wholesale for garages, coalmen and other firewood merchants etc, we make them from larch predominantely, this last run from some windblown larch we skylined in my avatar pic from the earlier part of the year. joy

alot of the rest of the area is made up of concrete railway sleepers, if need be if we ever moved they could be lifted up and moved on -

a bit of planning - i know what you mean, this project has been in the offing a good two years and never was the right time to start it:blushing:, but my cousin who did the work, just said "right i can start now! lets get on" and made us down tools and get stuck into it - and im so glad we did it looking at the weather this week and whats forecast:thumbup:
