  1. as wood burns its first phase of burning is wood gas which is flammable my only reservation was if you layered too thick s layer all across the width/length of stove it may form a dense layer that the gas couldnt escape from to combust and so blow out and my concern would be if the stove was well sealed i.e air tight where and what consequences would that produce in a domestic fire perhaps renewable john would be the one to answer this for us. joy Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2

  5. the only concern i would see is on a small stove as the chips heat up and give off the first burn to woodgas if too much chip on it may blow and in a small air tight stove where would that "explosion" of wood gas go ? just my thoughts joy as wood burns in three stages gas. wood then charcoal Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2

  12. how long is a piece of string ... you need to price according to what it will cost to fell and extract to rideside. depends on ground conditions and end use of timber dbh as to what it will go for. work out how long it will take you what it will cost you and what you can sell it for and then youll know what to offer Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2
  13. oxdale are very good machines, quick return stroke with the smaller ram, we ve used a friends before for a week or two, but i think however splitting all day everyday i think it wouldnt last that long unless you put nice easy to split sycamore through it, we have a browns and a woodline from fuelwood our Browns is solid machine hydraulic tractor run has a larger ram so slower but copes with everything thats thrown at it.
  14. smaller diametre would all go through a jappa 700 or similar bigger stuff would transaw all processors i know would take that we only get nice straight softwood Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2
  15. thats pretty representative of good hardwood that we get to be honest, that would all go through a processor no problem joy
  16. thats one hell of a sticky wet bog - very wet, is your woodland all that wet to get your timber out of or have you just hit a bad bit
  17. we have an old patu and a botex , rohan has used the mowi cranes from fuelwood and they are a good simple crane, patu is yonks old and still brill. botex are good but a bit overrated sometimes as there are definately others to consider out there.
  18. weve had all our mankinis printed with our logo just reinforces our corporate image. when the lads are in the woods tho they have complained that twigs have scratched there nipples so will get onto jonesie and see if they have a chainsaw grade ppe mankini a tongue in cheek joy Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2
  19. not had time to post still busy another 750 sticks out of yard friday and had a run on logs in nets sold another six pallets this week and still shifting tip loads on the domestic side . still got plenty of seasoned wood available trying to catch up and restock as well as selling it as fast as we are processing it... nightmare but keeps us busy joy Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2
  20. i was looking again at the tr branch logger i can see a time when all brash will and should be used if we did more tree surgery i would consider one instead of chipping all branches obviously time and volume of waste plays a part but this service would give added value to the customers wood when most want to keep logs for own burning joy Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2
