  1. But thats how most people sell logs. Thats how you bought your 0.7 of a cubic metre.
  2. Anybody serious about selling logs will be taking green timber now for processing summer 14. The timber they have processed will have been bought end of 2011.
  3. Does that involve paying a fee to someone sitting in a warm office
  4. I think half the time domestic log customers are alot more savvy than they let on. If they cause hassle you will just give in and throw a load of extra logs in to keep them happy. We seem to live in a time if you complain you get something free and for some its an automatic reaction especially if they have the power of feedback or a review.
  5. I think the volume measurement is what has confused you. Best way in future may be to just " buy a load " or a tonne of logs.
  6. If you need to move it on a trailer make sure it fits. Our 6ft deck is off centre so needs a wide trailer.
  7. I think they take roughly the same as a transit but you can get some serious weight on them without it showing. I noticed the payload on a Toyota Dyna is a fair bit lower which is a shame as they look a cracking truck.
  8. I think I have a toro225d 6ft with recycler deck. Brillant if you cut once or twice a week but fortnightly you will see some clippings behind. Used to spend 2 hrs on a tractor mower now 25 mins. Not for sale though as may need it for the next house.
  9. Do you need to be paid with stacked logs or would loose be ok ?
  10. £50 for 1 loose cubic metre is half price but you still want it topped up by a 3rd for free. If you have tickets and are familiar with the trade maybe you should have asked if it was a stacked solid metre.
  11. We are on a forum you cant get much sadder than that you may as well get a plate
  12. Nooooo you cant say things like that on a Landrover site
  13. I know oil is now great and engines clean and perfect but when engine lube is cheaper than road fuel can you afford not to change it more regularly. These days I can actually feel the difference in a vehicle after a 10,000 mile oil change. In the past an oil change did not make alot of difference. The £10 for oil must pay back in no time with diesel at £7 a gallon. Oil seems to get dirty quicker these days especially with egr fitted to engines.
  14. There is no lottery unless you are trying to get a bargain. You get what you pay for. If I load my 2cu metre body with logs you get 2 cu metres of loose logs. Those 2 cu metre crates in the pic turn in to around 3 cu metres when loose.
  15. I think this works for beech and birch but not ash or oak from experience. You still need to dice it up now to have a chance this winter.
  16. I always quote 0.7 cubic metres loose loaded. If they want to know its 0.45 stacked its not a problem its still the same price unless I detect a customer from hell then it doubles.
  17. I would rather burn dry poplar than bricks any day.
  18. Low emmission zone go inside the m25 and its a £100 a day for smelly vans. Comming to a city near u soon as well. Not a problem if you dont go into town but when you come to sell you 20k cruiser it will have a limited market.
  19. Are they easy to get insured and do they comply with the lez in London.
  20. chance of a breakdown when towing 300 miles
  21. I have an old Td5 van which needs replacing so in exactly the same position. I am looking at riping the seats out of the year 2000 family Amazon and turning it into a van. 24k cheaper than a new Disco 4 same on fuel and still more reliable.
  22. I think reading your post you said everything other than a Landrover is crap. Which will annoy some people but have the rest of us rolling around on the floor.
