  1. Yes you need to offer the cuttings back to the owner of the trees ,you can’t just throw them back( it’s fly tipping if you do)

Can’t see what the fuss is about many large stihl saws can be bought from around the world ,try looking on stihl South African web site even got saws with no chain brakes, indonesia and South America are the same. Few emails a card payment and the saw will be with you in less than a week (air mail)
  3. My guess is worn seals in ram or scored ram letting oil by under pressure can you try another ram .?

  5. More like 30 had a saw in 87 with heated handles they were the only ones left in the shop after the 87/ storm

Keep it in the shade slightly larger pot than you would normally use better if it’s deeper use John inness ericacious compost soil based with added composted bark and water with rain water if you are in hard water area, this will give it the best chance if germinating acer seeds put the in damp compost in the fridge for a month before planting makes them germinate better.
  10. Japanese acers could you have bamboo seedlings? They are monocotyledons an acer would be a dicotyledon
  11. I can confirm that they are not acer tree seedlings maybe a sedge or reed could be xanthorrea or maybe dasilirion but definitely not acer
  12. I’ve cut my apricot really hard it still live it flowers on one year old wood so maybe a bit late if fruit is required apricot flowers very early during the year some protection from frost is usually required and hand pollinating due to lack of insects
