  1. Very handy book but best kept in the office also a good guide is the field quide to trees and shrubs of britain and europe.

  5. Always have one on harness along side knife, havent used it yet and hopefully never will.

I always make a detailed contract for work to be done and make two coppies to be signed by myself and customer to keep it at what is in the document, mind you had a customer take the mick a little the other day but he had already paid half on a two day job and supplied us with bacon butties all day so happy to give a little more. my just be worth sucking it up and keeping customer happy to make sure you get paid, also if you are a little forgiving with customers then your reputation will surly grow into a good one and it may bring you more work in the long run. Just my 2 cents.

  11. Hi Littletree, thank you for your help and comitment over the past few days. Glad you got on with all the guys (as it is hard being the newbie) and is such a shame that i'm already loosing such a good worker to railways and highways but there is always work for you if you ever need it/ want it. good luck for the future and anyone need a reference for little tree then simply contact me.

  17. I'd be cautious just felling it, may have a big spread plus it's overhanging other gardens and I certainly wouldn't quote 200 squids on a tree I aint seen. How about posting some pictures and members can gove you some realistic quotes and if your still adiment on felling it your self we can give you advice on what your likely to hit on the way down lol.
  18. I dont know about there being that much work there, I have a few friends out there in logging and it has completly dried up, but it is a beutiful country and the people are great.

    Always use 14" seems a good ballance, also run 180 on same bar so handy for not having to carry to many spares on jobs.
