  1. Don't know how to compare tbh, I'm only on just over idle and spilling more than I load! Tons of power , been using it all week with the loader to! Serious pushing power compared to a tractor and loader.
  2. Very nice! Great advert for the battery saw!
  3. Nice! Look forward to seeing the end result
  4. Horrible jumpy back bone shaking things, the older ones have problems with the cogs and chains! I'd be looking for a tracked dumper instead, yanmar around the ton mark.
  5. Had a good day on the old girl today! Suprised myself with my fork skills and loaded 2 dumpers loads! Nearly bit through my tongue twice and spilled more than 1 Loaded! All in all though I didn't miss tracking about everywhere to get things. The noise was very nostalgic it brought back a lot of memories watching them for hours as a kid at my dads work desperate for a go!
  6. I've taken it as Px against my CAT 307, it wasn't doing much and shifting it about was a pain! I'm going to play about on this and if it works get a new 1! It's the Grey Cab Turbo, old school guys claim it's the best 1 they ever made, it's on normal JCB controls so will take a bit of getting used to but I'll stick at it! It's piped up for a grab and rotator with electro hydraulic switches on the levers! She isn't pretty paint wise and has a few scuffs as you can expect from a 29 year old machine. They say they still dig better than the new ones. If she works out I might just keep her for my village work and not bother with a lump of finance
  7. There comes a time where you have to jump up a level! Get a yard, get a bigger van, trailer, staff etc. Then 2-3 jobs a day don't even cover wages, so you need to do 8-9 jobs, earn 3 times as much, then it's finance, debt and stress! My advice is enjoy your runs to the tip in the van with the radio on, because you are chilling and not physically working yourself into the bone. When you get a huge truck and staff, these little breaks don't come along, when the customer asks if you want a cuppa and your lads all look up, you only see pound signs going down the drain!
  8. Does that involve just starting it and nothing else? If so no bother
  9. See Sean, this is how these threads go!
  10. So ive now just had to spend 10 minutes of my time going through this and the other thread that I didn't really have to because we know about these things as mods, I woke up to 11 emails this morning about reported posts. This is just 1 of those threads I now have to keep an eye on!
  11. If you have only sent 1 email and are now posting a thread on here I feel that's a bit jumping the gun! Emails get lost, forgotten about or put on a list. I'd call PeteB and he will sort you out! I've bought machines off him in the past and never had an issue.
  12. You may find it HAS to be invoiced before the end of March rather than finished! The posts and strainers are the hard bit that takes most of the time! You still have 2 weeks to go, I feel you are panicking as I would be. Have a meeting with him, don't threaten him with a fine, that will just put his back up. Not many other folk like finishing someone else's job either, you are better off with a slow awkward fencer than no fencer!
  13. There is a nice Farmi crane and chipper set up on the Facebook page of Arbtalk, £11.500 all in.
  14. Only time I ever worked a piece rate was in Argyll in 1996 for 5 weeks! I was new so didn't make much on felling but brashing was good money and I could do that (just ) Where abouts are you based?
  15. Is that your front or back garden Mark? Bit of a green glow earlier on with us!
  16. my situation was slightly diferent to the usual, I just didn't like the lack of control I felt !
  17. The motorhome is his new baby, I take it this guy is in his late 50's, early 60's?
