  1. My battery pack saw has an automatic chain break, it's much safer and saves a lot of time in the tree.
  2. Longer jackets are better with a harness, just pull it up a bit to allow movement and there is no jacket wasteline and harness movement . Just don't pull it up too far as you won't see your side D's.
  3. Heartbreaking John! I found this pic the other day, I knew I had it. Steve climbing, Dave, Mark Bolam, Myself, John Shutler and the nose of Ian Leach. Jonesie's first show about 7-8 years ago I think.
  4. I took a deep breath before the camera showed the top of the tree. Just too big, simples. Glad everyone was ok
  5. You need a lighter chipper Jonny and some weight on the back
  6. Only ever used similar sized saws.
  7. Last time I tried I bet my 12 year old nephew. I'd say 3 min is good and go from there. Just had a chicken burger so won't be trying it soon.
  8. Nice job Beaver ! Nightmare Steve
  9. When I sold the chipper I opened it up and showed the guy what can happen.
  10. I had the exact same thing, the oil pan at the bottom caught all the bits so we just fished about and found the key, thing that goes over the cog and the bolt. 10 minute job once you find all the stuff.
  11. Didn't watch the video, get the mist it's about wearing another companies clothing! Cool, free clothes and a chance to blame someone else when re building a lap Larch fence.
  12. I've always been a die hard chain breaker! Also since my reduction is staff over the years I do all the chipping with a 26 parked beside me chattering around the ground. Thanks to Arbtalk I found out my stalling saws were the damaged bearing. I used to just buy new saws lol
  13. Do you use your other saws in the same applications as the 261? Now that I've changed my ways I don't get the above problems .
  14. If the saws are spending most of their life idling with the chain break on sitting beside Chippers or hanging from a harness then this will be the cause of most of the problems imo. If a saw has a forest life it will rarely get this type of treatment.
  15. Still got the 3 tonner.
  16. I think it's just backing up your side strop he means.
  17. Ropeguide is the best thing I've used .
  18. Or it's 4th in 6 years
  19. She turns 8 this year!
  20. Mogs long gone! Time to build up my leg muscles manoeuvring Gloria. She's worth it:)
  21. After 6 months apart Gloria and I are re-united! I foolishly sold her for something Big and Orange, I am not proud of this. It was a mistake! Back garden extreme mulching is back
  22. Back to workshop warranty I think it's called. 15 years ago I'd be raging throwing a tantrum as I'd be stressed out my head running my life badly. Now I'd shrug my shoulders wait till Tuesday and not get wound up over £20 of diesel.
  23. Well done John! Looking forward to seeing the shear in action!
