  1. That was deader then dead! Well done that man!
  2. When you see 8" of beech disappear in seconds, surely a bit of metal can't be that diferent?
  3. I just heard a rattle along the shoot, a big rattle!! It still chipped small brash up to 5" but struggled with bigger. It never stalled, maybe 150hp behind it helps! Haven't rummaged through the chip yet to see what we find.
  4. I'm waiting till I find an aqua prop Huck:biggrin:
  5. Well today was the day, after 12 years of owning my own Chippers, it finally happened. Metal got into my chipper, it was an old 2 feet long piece of steal scaffold. It was in a clump of ivy wrapped around silver birch. Now awaiting new blades.
  6. A new saw is a very good investment, take your time and save up and go to your local dealer or a show and get a good deal. As far as if one is stolen, then ask to see a copy of he receipt and the serial number before you buy:001_smile:
  7. That's gutting mate, every day it's the same thing, where is all this stuff going?
  8. Blades got wrecked for the ducker today on the mog, so back to Gloria tomorrow.
  9. That bad news, I hope your future posts are happier ones:)
  10. Less of what your doing is my only advice. If your a climber, Ditch the top handle for a while, go back to rear handle saw for climbing and do it old school not cut n hold. If you prussik 1 side, change climbing technique to hand over hand.
  11. Get a big splitter on it:thumbup:
  12. Let the bat guy do it, and go and find a better customer.
  13. Wow josh! Ours are further on than ours with the cold, even Aviemore was a lot further on than Glasgow today on my way home.
  14. Not that I'm in the comp, but here's another 2 pics.
  15. Arbtrader with some pics and say offers. If you like the offer, take it.
  16. Good stuff:)
  17. A few years back I was closing off an old footbridge, most of the timber was missing , what was there was dodgy . We were just finishing putting the sign up, when a lady in crutches appeared, we chatted about the bridge needing fixed, etc etc, then she said bye and started across the bridge, I said what are you going? She looked at me with a look that only a rambler with rights can give, laughed and hobbled over the dodgy bridge. By the end of the day the sign , tape and wired on pallets were in the river!
  18. It is a land rover remember!! I think your right though, they are usually just behind the cab.
  19. My caps there on the RR sport
  20. Kettlebells will get you strong, if you can do endless chin ups You'll be strong enough though. Bet i couldn't do 5 now!
  21. I haven't spent a penny on my RR and I've owned it for 18 months, only an MOt with no faults. Mark there's a disco pickup coming out, there was a pic on here a few months back, looked cracking.
  22. 50 strokes! I would of thrown it away tbh! A chain 13"-25" chain takes about 10 minutes to sharpen on the deck or your knee, if its a mate then no charge, if its every week, then have a laugh about it and still sharpen it for nothing. Is £7.50 going to change your life?if you cant afford a file every week, then I'd get some business advice:) If he's not appreciative then just don't do it.
  23. Cut off those big lower limbs and job done, pine love big wounds, that will resin up and be dandy. It's a pine beside property, it's always going to get in the way. Reducing the crown, will leave the stem open to sun, not that the tree will be to bothered, it's got enough on its plate with hundreds of pruning cuts, but you will loose your nice shade, to me that's the only reason to keep it in your location.
  24. Congratulations to all!!
