1. Offer still open if you fancy healing your wounds at the lodge ; )
2. I did exactly that a few year ago . I got asked to remove a 50 ft Sycamore in a really limited drop zone ( Courtyard ) . The client called me and said that she had a cheaper price and that they could start this coming Saturday . I only priced the job on Thursday ? Lost the job to a local gardening company . So I thought I got to check this out anyway it pissed down all day . I watched them from the comfort of my truck with coffee in hand for 20mins . 4 Men truck chipper 3 days £ 400 I got the stumpgrinding job £ 150 for 90 mins . To be fair the tree was down by noon of the second day . Just really restricted access .
3. Nice one is this your main workhorse ? I am currently down sizing and selling my landy tipper . Although keeping my crew cab l200 which tows our trailer . I have access to a large site were we can burn whenever we want .So at the moment we tend to just fill the trailer and tip at the burn site once full . Still chipping just not as much as before . Wondered if this system was any good for getting chip out ? Thanks Paul
4.
Hi Steve sorry to bother you on a Friday night . Just wondered if you could help me out ? I,m struggling to remember the name of those checked smocks you were talking about in one of your posts ? Although that particular post is probably a few year old now . Regards Paul Bell .

5. We bought an L200 crew cab 4 work two years ago on a 54 plate . Basic model is the 4 work truck wind up windows and the like . Had it for two years now and its been great . We use it for delivering logs and towing our 10ft twin axle trailer . Just yesterday I welded a frame and put some 2ft greedy boards on her . Ideal for small pruning jobs and the like . Loads more comfortable than my day to day work horse the 110 landy tipper
6. Compay the size of Petzl should have sorted all the issues out with the Zig Zag Mk 1 before releasing Mk 2 . I find it hard to believe that Petzl are saying the cracks are ok and not life threatening . What other climbing device that is showing cracks is actually deemed fit for use ? None in my book . Stress Fracture / Crack whatever you call it this device really is not fit for purpose in my book . Sad thing is it actually works excellent .
7. Put some pics up of your stolen truck and those pics .
8. Happy Days Mr and Mrs Bolam . Excellent job Hopefully now you will behave and become a true man All the best to Mrs Bolam x
9. Cold wet harsh winter ahead ? So ive been told by 90% of my customers . Good for log sales
10. We run the Jo Beau 300 as a back up chipper but boy it chips good for a little un
11. He could also mean chilling at the beach as in a sandy place lol . While felling a Cherry ? Never mind photos are buggers at deceiving you most of the time . Nice bar anyhow
12. I have had young lads work for me who have just finished a college course in relation to Tree Work / Forestry . All fit and able lads but the one thing that strikes me really hard is that they all lacked common sense . Common sense is a must in day to day life and a potential life saver in the Treeworld
13. Amen to that Last I heard Tree Removal had a danger factor that equalled deep sea diving in regards to fatalities ?
14. I worked with a groundie back in the early / mid 90s who had a target painted on his helmet . He was in and out quick as a Cobra strike lol . He's nearly 54 now and still has a target painted on his helmet . His character is massive and he lifts the team everytime Ive worked with him . A true fruit bat though . Love him I do Nice job by the way
15. Fencing mate of mine contacted the local Kebab / Pizza House to see who did there leaflets as they are always doubled sided and a quality coloured print . I would do the same as the 5000 he had printed cost peanuts compared to the local printers price In these numbers the leaflets will last him years .
16. Shavey lol ................ Any tea bag that has been turned into a rusty coloured brew suits me just fine . All the ex army guys will be shouting Nato Nato which = tea two sugars milk This is welcomed by all after a long exercise . Now a days I never refused a brew at work as you never know when the next brew will appear
17. I would install Cobra bracing near the main trunk and then another brace near the tip of that limb . If in doubt of the safety regarding the youguns then remove the offending limb . Simple really Absolute glowing post / asking advice .
18. If your after an online diagnosis , Well pics are a must ; )
19. Well if thats your set up at 21 matey your doing something right I would cut the ladder rack / crossbar off and weld it slightly higher up . Only because it seems to be in the way of the discharge chute . Then fit a mesh / skip net underneath the ladder rack to retain all the chip and foliage . If you put a solid roof on your chip box be prepared for alot of chip dust to be blown back in your face .
20. I,d go for a tool box that was the length of the tipper bed 2ft deep and 1ft high . Good for fuel , hedge cutters and most saws . Go for more storage now as you will probably need it when the conversion is done . A good Brownchurch roof rack on a landy makes an ace place for another storage box . Also good for hedge work / mobile platform the roof rack that is Just like hodge's beat me to it he did ; )
21. I try not to drink in the week and if I do its minimal . The weekends however kinda get messy sometimes . Mates popping round etc ? Especially in this weather . They always say what not got the bbq on ? I was looking forward to a beer . Always at my expense . Mind you I did once go through a bad patch when work got to much for me . I was doing a 12 / 14 hr day most days which included Quotes , Invoices , Risk A , Method Statements Paperwork paperwork and more paperwork . All before and after a day on the tools . Thankfully a good friend had a strong word . This made me realise the extent of how much drink ( Spirits ) I was getting through 1/2 a bottle of Vodka most nights . This was a massive wake up call . My good lady had being telling me about it for a while . Just hit home when a real close friend put it to me straight in laymans terms .
22. Hope your sorted now .
23. Phew I,m sweating just thinking about that hard ground . This heat does slow you down it can be a nightmare if your not careful . Parish mags are kicking my old yellow pages advert off the bloody map
24. New word to me I like it a lot only because its true 99% of the time
