  1. Never had the need too . If no anchor point available always used the Landy tow hitch or winch bumper . Interested to see if anyone has used this alternative though . Good post
  2. Yes for 400e I'd make my own . Lots of them . Cracking idea though
  3. All this time I thought we were the perfect combination ; ) looks nice mind
  4. I am sure that I read some literature that stated home made trailers ie caravan chassis and the like will not be allowed on the public highway ? I cannot remember the date when this new law comes into effect ? Sure I didnt dream it
  5. Bit early in the year for a reduction of a cherry tree by that % . Nice shape though I would add some tree and shrub fertiliser to the base of that tree all the way out to the drip line . Anything high in pot ash and nitrogen will be good . Pruning this early could lead to numerous problems this and next year . Cherry tree pruning as a rule late summer never winter . Hence my bit early remark . Now go feed that tree
  6. I had one of the first 26cc echo top handle saws fitted with a 10 " bar . I killed it within 18 months . Mind you it was such a delight to use in the tree . I just totally abused it . Instead of light pruning , conifer reductions I was doing takedowns with it ? and well maxing the 10" bar capacity every day . Might get another one and use it for what it was intended for
  7. Nail on the head there fella
  8. My landy 110 tipper is a workhorse . Oil and filters changed on average 3 times a year . Uncomfortable and cold in winter although cool and fresh in summer Earns the dollars for me every day . Maintenance is the key . I also run a crew cab Mitsubishi l200 for my Log deliverys . It also tows the plant trailer with the stumpy on board and is often used to shift timber from the job to the yard . Pros and cons with both although if pushed and I could only have one vehicle I'd keep my Landy
  9. Well the Mk 1 was recalled and then the Mk 2 has had issues after being modded . So that makes me think Petzl are are not testing there products in a real life working scenario .
  10. I thought the Mk 1 and Mk 2 zig zag was a no no after twice having serious issue's
  11. Absolute bliss
  12. All the best really hope it works out for ya . Although dont forget about the hidden self employed work hours and stress . Quotes , Paperwork . Site visits , and maintenance all adds up
  13. Fuel starvation maybe if it runs better with the choke on .
  14. keep rolling fella Big top that like
  15. Boothen end mentality helps Nice scooter trig
  16. Cheers although Id end up in jail with my outlook on the thieving community . That includes the gits we voted in politicians or should I say polytitheads . Give it ago I would though ? you never know . Just off to put an edge on the axe  May even get sponsership by Carlsberg because if Carlsberg ruled the country it would be immense . Well according to there adverts it would be . Politicians = Headless chickens and we all know chickens ain't got no balls
  17. Now and again I drop my good lady off on a job with her trusty strimmer / hedgecutter and blower . She always has a whistle round her neck and the client is briefed before all work starts . If he or anyone hears the whistle go investigate simple . Domestic work only . Over the top I know but if anyone grabs her , My good lady knows just what to do . She will push shove and deliver a pen or chainsaw file to the eyes of any would be ruffion . 99% of the population would not make her feel threatened . If anyone does beware . If Im on my own as a man and I encounter a would be chancer , Well its game on . I will do my up most to educate the chancer in the virtues and problems with taking another mans tools . Trust me it would be a painful lesson for him them or whoever
  18. Surgical spirit which has castor oil added to it .All comes in one bottle . I rub my hands with this in the morning . Then after my bath / shower of an evening I head for any moisturising cream . If my paws are showing any signs of cracking I will then put some poof coloured purple medic gloves on after my moisturising cream and even go to bed with them on . Well at about 3am they piss me off so I normally rip them off . Hey by then my hands are feeling real good . The trick is to not let cracked hands to develop . Get into a routine of creaming your mitts lol . Sounds funny but its better than sore cracked unproductive paws anyday .
  19. Hooded top By Bear Grylls , Craghopper's no base layer and crack on . Shorts on under my chaps lol . Pushing the limits until home time and then enjoy a Tuborg n Steak . Set your goals and achieve them
  20. Yes matey he loves it . Never had no problems with it . You got to know your knots though . Low and slow fits the bill
  21. A friend of mine has done this and he made the bridge out of 13mm XTC . Not a problem in my eyes . Although you would probably have to revert back to the maillons for a kit inspection .
  22. Class hot vinyl seats do and will burn ya legs lol .
  23. Mine also does not come out to play alot these days but when it does it really is like having another body on the job . I like Arbtalk member breezeblocks solution of making brackets and storing the arb trolley on the chipper . So its always there when you need it .
