  4. I have access to a 50ft cherry picker Alsager . Climbing out of the equation I take it . I,m willing to climb it if not to rotten / Dangerous
  5. Commercial just take the niss 90% of the time . Domestic's usually pay up on completion . Which is great really . My hands are covered in hard skin and look rough . This is a testament to how hard this job actually is on your body . After years of quoting you should be able to tell if the customer is a payer or a delayer . If I think the customer is awkward I will quote higher simple as I expect to be mucked about . This is for domestic only . Commercial well most can sod off and leave me alone as they pay late with crap rates and want an amazing job .
  6. Thanks for sharing David . One of my childhood hero's . Just having a whiskey and mulling over his past .Wonder how many youguns he has influenced
  7. Think it may have a home now . Who'd of thought there was that much demand for it
  8. Sorry I cannot help . Although I have pile of Laburnum at the yard . Its been down about 4 months . Free to anyone who wants it . Located Nr M6 Sandbach Services Cheshire .
  9. Was good now gone sour . We got out of it a while back all and sundrie are on it now Check a mong dot com as we call it . I have seen first hand some of the hero's I was quoting against and most of them have difficulty telling the difference between a thuja and a leylandii . The opposition prices normally start at £ 400 and rapidly come down to £120 ? Although they now also look the part
  10. Carritools as a rule are not very durable IMO . Many guys have made there own improved version .
  11. Cool never used a specific ground anchor . Just thought I should mention it as its one of the first things I thought of . Well after a minute or so
  12. Best Vid yet August . Keep spitting chips fella because you were made for this . Dam I need get me a go pro or summit
  13. Thinking about it ? On a domestic job or any job for that matter . Smashing 1 metre long metal spikes into the ground needs to be done with caution . Possibility of hitting Gas , Water and even Electric cable not to mention hitting drainage .
  14. Never had the need too . If no anchor point available always used the Landy tow hitch or winch bumper . Interested to see if anyone has used this alternative though . Good post
  15. Yes for 400e I'd make my own . Lots of them . Cracking idea though
  16. All this time I thought we were the perfect combination ; ) looks nice mind
  17. I am sure that I read some literature that stated home made trailers ie caravan chassis and the like will not be allowed on the public highway ? I cannot remember the date when this new law comes into effect ? Sure I didnt dream it
  18. Bit early in the year for a reduction of a cherry tree by that % . Nice shape though I would add some tree and shrub fertiliser to the base of that tree all the way out to the drip line . Anything high in pot ash and nitrogen will be good . Pruning this early could lead to numerous problems this and next year . Cherry tree pruning as a rule late summer never winter . Hence my bit early remark . Now go feed that tree
  19. I had one of the first 26cc echo top handle saws fitted with a 10 " bar . I killed it within 18 months . Mind you it was such a delight to use in the tree . I just totally abused it . Instead of light pruning , conifer reductions I was doing takedowns with it ? and well maxing the 10" bar capacity every day . Might get another one and use it for what it was intended for
  20. Nail on the head there fella
  21. My landy 110 tipper is a workhorse . Oil and filters changed on average 3 times a year . Uncomfortable and cold in winter although cool and fresh in summer Earns the dollars for me every day . Maintenance is the key . I also run a crew cab Mitsubishi l200 for my Log deliverys . It also tows the plant trailer with the stumpy on board and is often used to shift timber from the job to the yard . Pros and cons with both although if pushed and I could only have one vehicle I'd keep my Landy
  22. Well the Mk 1 was recalled and then the Mk 2 has had issues after being modded . So that makes me think Petzl are are not testing there products in a real life working scenario .
  23. I thought the Mk 1 and Mk 2 zig zag was a no no after twice having serious issue's
