  1. Hi Any one help me out with a tip site for woodchip in or around Holme-on- Spalding-Moor, east Yorkshire? pm me or text me on 07782251881 Ian
  2. You get alot less whip from long branched going through the chipper with the vertical rollers Not really it just whips in a different direction, there is also the fact that the rollers are Purley relying on spring pressure to crush/pull them together where as standard up and down rollers have there own weight advantage to start with, I have run a few gm with the side rollers and have grown to dis like the. The new arb 200 is a better machine all round imo.
  3. Had 3 and a 550 nice fast saws but can’t get them to last more than 18 months! Sold em all as there too unreliable.
  4. Holly Hawthorne and monkey puzzles do nothing for me !
  5. I think the whole Tommy Robinson case is a disgrace, why should these child sex abuse cases be covered up? Especially when the powers that be know what’s going on but won’t tackle them for fear of being called racist, this county is turning into an Islamic shut hole, it seem free speech is no longer acceptable but noncing young kids is fine!
  6. Looks a nice site Barry and well done on the Echo front, nice to have another choice .
  7. Short answer is yes I did it 6 yrs ago and it has helped me no end, it puts you above the rest and is recognised as a L2 qualification and unlike the AA you can actually use there logo and badge! I have done other courses with the ISA over the years and the ISA is much more about arb and arborists than the AA in my opinion and im a member of both (for now)
  8. Yeah there thin on the ground , I’d love a 1455xl but there ever rarer, can’t beat a big “ Nasher “
  9. I assume your going to be at the APF this year?
  10. Really? How many hours has it got on? I would expect at least a 1000 min before bearings needed doing!
  11. Stephenson trees were looking for a climber Contact Kev Stephenson on here
  12. No wonder this industry is getting harder to make any money
  13. Total cost is about 600 pounds and the license lasts 5 yrs , all forms etc available online, really quite easy Just a warning, you have to pay 250 up front with the application, make sure the app is spot on, get someone to check it over as this is non refundable so if it’s not right you will waste money and time
  14. We have just got out o license, get a “ Restricted” licence as that’s all you will need, you need a yard to keep it in (not domestic) with enough room to park and turn round etc, you need a form filled in from your local garage for a maintenance agreement, proof of sufficient funds Which is roughly 3k for the first truck and 1500 for each additional, this can be a credit card, over draft etc they will need a month bank statements with the application. You will need to put an advert in a local paper, not a free rag I went in the selby times , needs to be in a proper format but that’s all in the forms available on line and will take about 7 weeks. When I did ours I was advised on the following from the vehicle supplier, always apply for 2 trucks as if you want another it’s a re apply job, put down for 8 week inspection, any longer as a new user will ring alarm bells , sounds complicated and a ball ache but you can get all the paper work etc done and organised in a day. Well worth it .
  15. Bmi is a load of crap , I’m 6,4 and I’m supposed to be about 12 stone ! Jesus I would look like something from Belsen.
  16. What’s that for though? I pay 3k a year !
  17. And I bet they don’t pay out because the person wasn’t trained !

Oh ffs I just said there not all the same! the fact is the OP is asking what its like from an employer point of view, as I have said as a one/two man band you cant relay on them as a member of staff as there away a fair amount of time, its like having a Part timer, the bigger the firm the easier it is with out them obviously, when I hade one we I was small, now I could manage without them, I'm considering taking on a new one, finding a good one that's worth investing in that's not going to drop you the minute they finish and set up against you is the tricky bit.

I didn’t say they were all the same but you have to assume that, also they still have collage and holidays to fit in, I had one who was shite plus was hardly there due to collage and holidays, like I say you cannot use them as full time staff as there not until finished.

Do not rely on them as a member of staff, they wont be around long what with going to collage, sick and Holidays. Also until say 3 months in depending of the ability of the person there going to be pretty useless form day one.
  21. Most are a bag of shit, easy fix is throw in bin and but an Echo
  22. In reality your better off saving the money and just have the v basic PL/EL and make your security spot on, unless you get cleaned out its not worth making a claim. we never leave plant on site unless its as good or better than our yard security and small tools are never left un secured or sitting in a garden etc, at our yard there locked in a steel container within a brick built unit with cctv alarms etc .
