  1. He wouldn’t be working for me that’s for sure, if he’s a stoner he’s a liability, any one why turns up fir work pissed, stoned or smacked up isn’t worth having!
  2. Marks right, that’s about as close as your going to get I think, it’s worth doing and not mega difficult but it is generic, managing people is pretty much the same what ever the trade
  3. That’s got to be good joe! God it must be hard work running those pencil sharpeners an a regular basis!
  4. I might be able to help joe, is she fit?
  5. I mentioned this to Forst when we were running them but it didn't go far, I honestly believe it will be a good selling point in future and manufactures can make the most of it by getting with it! Not a big issue with a 3t Bandit but with the smaller machines especially those under 750k its a big thing, thousands are spent on R&D to make the "best" chipper from each manufacturer but yet they put a hitch on for £4.99 that might as well be made of cheese!
  6. I do think manufactures need to start taking machine security a bit better, I don't mean going all hitec with iris recognition etc but simple steps like quality locking hitches that actually work and simple measures to at least make it harder to simply walk off with it.
  7. between 4 of us Steve
  8. we use approx. 500 lt a year

It wont stop theft but it will mean there easier to get back if found, its the "if" bit that's the problem and @15 quid a saw it can soon add up to a small company running a lot of kit. I Like your thinking Justin and something does need to happen, I just don't know what the solution is!
  10. No issues at all, the wheels are bigger than the twin rear wheel vans , they handle weight just as well they don't need twin wheels as there not driven so no point in having them
  11. we had one for 5 years, no issues with it, It got worked v hard and did v well. Drawbacks are front wheel drive so go no where near wet grass, that said RWD aint any better on grass, there good value for money and have a higher payload than a RWD as there lighter to start with, for a small out fit there a good cheap work horse, I would have one again and am looking at a flatbed for the Landscape guys to use. The Fiat Ducatto and pug Boxer are all the same van so get the best deal rather than badge
  12. we have the same machine @Jcarbor good machine but heavy. @josharb87 did you consider the Pred 38, better cutting specs and same engine HP, vari tracks etc
  13. Josh, the teeth issue is a thing with the green teeth set up, I hired a carlton 7015 with green teeth on a big job and I wouldn't have them on my own machine, the nuts and pockets get mullered all the time then you cant undo the nuts as there rounded off.
  14. Fair points David however getting the general public to pay good money or convincing them it’s going to be safe after a reduction is like platting fog, given a choice they will mostly go for removal, to most domestics cost is a big factor and a one time removal over reducing it wins, I bet the neighbours who kicked off didn’t offer to pay towards any work to save it.
  15. Thanks josh, an honest review by the sounds of it, you say build is average? What could be improved?
  16. so what do you think of the Bandit Josh? how far does it grind down? good /Bad points?
  17. aint just some tree surgeons that suck, my Mrs does as well !
  18. Isuzu also do the grafter in 3L 150hp go for that one, yes its got adblu but the bigger engine will be far better if worked hard, I have 2 and there good trucks.
  19. BFG all terrains
  20. You did yours on a bow saw! ?
  21. You would be surprised how many old folk still think like this, in days gone by there was more trust !
  22. In my opinion the auto tune stuff just runs too lean to last any length of time.
  23. I had a 550 go pop as it was ticking over! Echo are v good, basic old skool but reliable.
  24. The ISA cert Arb is a great qualification to have, you can’t compare it to a L4, that’s like comparing an apple to a pear, the ISA route is a great qual for a small business owner or working arborist or anybody “on the tools” it’s also v cost affective and easy studying as there are no time constraints. Will it get you a consultant or TO job ? No but it’s not designed to, it’s a basic working mans qual to help in everyday working arborists life and it’s far better than having nothing! I just wish I had the brains to do a L4 or 6 !
  25. You have just answered you own question, don't work for them! simples. We work for many big firms and don't really do "day rates" price per job only and never had any problems however if there paying you by time then yes they have every right to moan.
