  1. Buy some wax oil for the chassis as my old Isuzu rusted away quickly
  2. Keep your knees locked straight. If unsteady on spikes try putting the flip line from your right hand side of your harness across to the left hand side of the tree take it around the stem and then attach to the left hand side d on your harness. This will distribute your weight better and prevent you from twisting around the stem.
  3. No worrys I ll let him know.
  4. Where abouts was that my dads place is near wortwell and they have a few dogs on the site it's abit to close to home.
  5. Speak to rob d if it is specific, or if not go to new forest fencing.
  6. One thing to remember if load ratings on wheels and tyres. its all well and good having some shiny alloys but there not rated high enough to carry the load that you ll be putting on them. I converted my hi cap years ago I think I posted pics before I was lucky to find a tipper body with chip box off a 110 on e bay. If you get the tipping sub frame off a transit and cut it to fit then that will do the job nicely then speak to service metals for the alloy planking to make the sides. Another thing to think about is wether your Landy is rated to 3500 gross or 3050. If its the latter I would think about how you operate with regards to what gear you need for that job and only take what is required ie no point in having a tool box and carrying unnecessary weight around with you.
  7. I would love to know how he fills in his risk assessment.
  8. Just had this on demo today. I have a 3 year old Vermeer 252 so as there both powered by the same engine it was quite nice as a comparison. I have to say I am very impressed it loses very little power from the hydraulic cutting head. The swing on the head is its most impressive feature. It's a very productive machine and overall a great machine no wonder they are selling well. A big thanks to dean from bandit/global for the demo.
  9. Nope . Stick to known brands better for safety point of view and for spares back up.
  10. Paul think I mentioned before my interest let me know if you plan to do one at sparsholt again
  11. I ve had similar problems been told it was carpal tunnel but went to have ct and MRI scans now found blockage in my spinal cord. I am having a operation on it in dec if that does not work then will have to have some of my spine sections replaced. I am 31 I am slightly bricking it.
  12. Having had several land rovers over the years last year I bought a 2010 supercab ranger 22k on the clock at the time(with no vat which was a bonus )and I have to say I think it's great. Comfortable to drive and pretty good on fuel. It's a shame and with regret that in the next 4-6 months its going to have to go as the girlfriend has now got a job working in London to help her clear her dept she will sell her car and we ll get something like a double cab or discovery for our everyday motor/ quoting motor. So it will end up in arb trader in the not to distant future. Shame
  13. The man to talk to is rob dyer from chainsaw bars uk / Alaskan mills etc he ll give you advice and excellent price
  14. I run a 30 inch bar on my 390xp and its a little ripper
  15. They should be c rated for commercials I always thought. If there are issues come mot time what are the issues regarding insurance etc. I looked into this for a mate of mine when he needed new tyres for his dyna so spoke to another mate of mine who's a mot inspector and he advised not to do it. Each to there own but I would not do it as other people drive my vehicle s so don't want any issues with that.
  16. When I asked a few weeks ago they told me they did not do them and recommend I use saturn knives as that's who they use. Personally I would not want someone else's blades I would always want my own back as I know what use they have had.
  17. Andy Townsend from Townsend tree service may be able to help. He's a busy guy but sure he would be able to help or know someone who can. He's based in talley call 07748854549
  18. Just had my first call although not an emergency a regular customer has had a large poplar down over the neighbors farm machinery. The neighbors cool about it so asked if it can wait till the morning to sort out. The girlfriend just put the dinner on so food is more important.
  19. I know redwoods don t do sharpening i was going to try arb rep or I suppose it will probably be best to send to saturn machine knives.
  20. I bought a tw150 from my local dealer they told me they knew it from new and they had re conditioned it all blah blah etc etc. I pretty much replaced it all inc engine, wish I had stayed away from it. Buy the best you can that's my advise if this is the best you can find then go for it, but every month put some money aside for repairs etc as it will need it. Least then it won t be such a shock.
  21. It's a tricky one as everyone works slightly different. I run a transit with tool locker, 110 tipper and ranger supercab. Really I need another motor that can tow 3.5 t better start saving the pennies
  22. Bargin who ever got it.
  23. Any one know where to get a good Salisbury rear disc axle for sensible money.
  24. I could do with that this week.
  25. This is something I am looking at possibly getting in the future. Trying to make my work as easy and efficient as possible on my back. Are the avants the best option do to damage on ground etc.
