  1. That needs felling Simon Phellinus ignarius - Willow bracket - David Humphries’s Fungi Directory - Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists When do you want me to come over:thumbup1:
  2. Do you know it shows as well:laugh1:
  3. Are you asking for advice or seeking justification to continue what you are doing? Generally speaking a ladder is fine for access but leaves a lot to be desired as a working platform. To improve it you would need to stabilise the ladder (tie it in or have someone foot it) to prevent it sliding out from under you. Makes it all a bit cumbersome but it is doable. The risk is the ladder slipping your strop gripping and you doing a face plant onto whatever is in front of you, be it the tree or your saw in the tree. Those are the risks, use a ladder if you want, I have done in the past and would do it again but only if it were a better option than spikes
  4. If its a drop side flat the build detail will vary depending on who built the flat.
  5. The guide price is what they have told the owner that the item is expected to make. I think 25% may be a bit ambitious. A lot of auctions with big clients sell subject to approval and run the bid price by the vendor for approval.
  6. I will trust your word because you are a surgeon, will it be OK if I drink malt whiskey instead? I promise it will be in glass
  7. Its only entertainment, if it weren't sensational it wouldn't be worth the while As it stands its got you all talking about it so they must be doing something right Its just chewing gum for the mind
  8. Get some PL insurance, if something goes wrong and you don't have the insurance "they" will come after everything you own If anyone helps you, you must have EL insurance in case anything happens to them. If it goes wrong and you don't have the insurance "they" will come after everything you own and the HSE will lock you up and throw the key down Chubby Brown's skivies:laugh1:
  9. I was a bit concerned by this because I re use bottles and freeze them in the summer. It seems to be nothing more than an urban myth and if anything, freezing the plastic less likely to cause harm Cancer research UK is probably the most unbiased authority you could want and they say this Is there any truth in the claims? There is no convincing scientific evidence to substantiate these health warnings against plastics. In the UK, there is legislation in place to ensure that all materials that come into contact with food, such as containers for pre-packed food, are thoroughly tested before they can be used.
  10. Anyone got a link to this killer water bottle research, I am getting a bit worried.
  11. Have a look at his recent sales. He claims this one was his dads and he died before using it. Same patter as the one he sold in December How many 660's did his dad have?
  12. I blame the problem of crud in the eyes on the clean air act. Trees, Sycamore in particular never had that nasty algae, when its wet its like grease and when its dry it powders up and turns into grinding paste in your eyeball. Never used to get it back in the day, bring back the sulphur I say:001_rolleyes:
  13. Well if they will insist on putting their towels out:001_rolleyes:
  14. That is a PTO one, it wouldn't take much to shaft drive that, question is would it be cheaper and less hassle to buy a ready made one.
  15. Yes but if you have a front PTO why not just put a regular chipper direct to that? If you do go with the pump idea you will need a decent sized pump, by the time you have spent money on that you would probably be better fitting a regular PTO set up.
  16. :laugh1::laugh1:
  17. Why not go old school and demonstrate the application of a dead blow hammer? You can do that yourself.
  18. Well they do seem to be getting kitted out for the job
  19. I think he got himself banned edit Yup just checked, he is banned
  20. Is it worth crane feeding such a weedy chipper?
  21. Isn't 6 inch a bit small for crane feed?
  22. The technology was there already Its the kind of thing they use in the films for stunt men to fall on
  23. 811 is the "light" end of the power units, if you are dragging a chipper go for a 14 or a 17 if you can find one
  24. Certainly looks like a conversion. I used a converted on once, cumbersome to say the least This particular example isn't HSE compliant and that in feed control looks like its going to get a false trip every second branch
  25. Surely its speed of operation is down to the ground crew not the climber?
