  1. What is all this rubbish about bats?? The man has been asked to cut trees in a CA and the LA's officer has asked for an ecology report. The simple answer is NO I don't think we will be doing that, here is your "211" see you in 6 weeks
  2. Hear hear:laugh1:
  3. CPC has nothing to do with what's in the truck. If your main occupation is driving you need a driver CPC. If driving is incidental to your work you don't need one,,,,,,,,yet
  4. Nope, you are getting "O" licence and driver CPC mixed up. The vehicle is used in connection with your business which is run for hire or reward. The other option is private HGV which cannot be used for anything commercial. You need a driver CPC if you drive vehicles exceeding 3500kg as your main occupation. As a tree surgeon your main occupation is cutting trees

5 grand?????? no where near enough :thumbdown:
  7. I have just re read your original post and its way too confused for me to offer any meaningful advice. This one is also confused, forget kit logs chip, they are all payload. You cant exceed the MAM. The only thing to worry about is MAM

Not a bit excessive, in fact the extra power only just balances the sartorial elegance of that classic Bentley shape. All I need is a silk scarf and a leather flying helmet, oh and half a mill to buy the car:001_rolleyes: What does a kidney go for these days?.................

No mate, its a non standard Bentley with a merlin engine, that's 27l and a 2 stage supercharger for the days when 8l just isn't enough:laugh1:

    Dream CAR

Yup, just needs a couple of .303's to make it a bit more "warbird":laugh1:
  11. Still not getting this:confused1: Conservation area means a "211" notification. He cant "tell" you anything. A "211" is a notification of intent so you are the one doing the telling.

If I owned the Berkin I wouldn't drive it, its a motoring icon and far too valuable to chance getting wrecked. The meteor has a Merlin engine, 27l and a supercharger......droooool

That's a confused looking car, the designer was on batman with Bilbo begins front door.
  15. Don't take this the wrong way but how well have you understood the situation? I only ask because the 3500kg is GVW not GTW and its own goods rather than equipment.
  16. That can be welded. Cast welding is a bit specialised but it can be done
  17. Don't even go any further than that, this is an old man ranting thread. "You tell that to the kids of today and they don't believe you".................
  18. Hmmmmm
  19. Where did you get the valve? Not all valves are spooled alike
  20. When you say lever did you put a new lever on the valve or have you changed the valve? If you have changed the valve disregard the previous post
  21. It sounds like the valve on the splitter is going "closed centre" and the tractor is kicking out on the overload The valve on the splitter would normally be open centre meaning that when in the centre position the oil would normally flow uninhibited back to the tank If the spool isn't centring properly it can go closed centre and this would cause the problem you describe. If the problem is occurring while you operate the lever then the spool is going too far and causing the problem.
  22. Or you could nail bits of wood on like the kids do, I deal with nail infested trees on a daily basis and the seem to be OK on it:laugh1:
  23. And for another perspective, I sold a welder on eBay, it was tested before it left me and was A ok. Buyer said it didn't work and parts were missing, he couldn't back up the missing parts and it didn't work because when he collected it he put it in his car upside down and bounced it home. He asked eBay for his money back and they said no, it's all about how you handle the dispute.
  24. Is that a name or the estate agents description?
  25. The fact that its running on its own oil but only for a short time points to valve seals and seats. Its probably dropping a bit of oil in but not enough to cause a self perpetuating run on.
