  1. Nice one Steve! Has you're work shifted away from Gloria stuff now?
  2. both great saws, 441 has better anti vibes and a more modern saw, chainbrake stiffness seems common, 46 is a cracking saw, has a raw power. both great on 18-25inch bars depending on wood. my old 046 siezed (had a lot of use) gave it to burrell_ off here who rebuilt it and now i think he struggles to choose between his newish 441 and the old 046. think they're too close to decide between, but 46 would be my prefrence

  8. a bad silky scar on both my left and right index finger knuckle, no a+e stopping work ect. numerous little ones on hands chainsaw cut to my left thumb a few months back, topping saw got trapped in a cut, switched off, released saw as it fell a tooth caught me, lot of blood no pain, permanant nerve damage to thumb, on an island no 1st aid kit (not even roads!), vodka to cleanse, customer bandaged it and a bit of ellecy tape. got bored being grounded after an hour so carried on with the dismantles as a result we looked at getting 2 arbaid kits, one for each team, but the cost was too high! so got my mother (retired nurse) and sister (a+e sister) to put together 2 big kits aimed at our work for under 50quid for the pair
  9. Inventive rigging setups from other trees but dont underestimate the forces involved! felling stems into the back of trailers can damage the trailer but again, you can controll it with a rigging line
  10. How many can you link up? as many radios and headpiecies as you want? Do you have to keep hold of the button to talk, or can you press it once, talk hands free, then press it off? can you have one radio without the ear piece and one with working together? Thanks!
  11. WOW!! Nice!
  12. with respect to the original post, its not like stihl vs husky as hes not asking TW vs GM, he's wanting opinions on two specific comparable models

  15. been faultless, naff all maintenance or tuning, can allways depend on it to work the same as it did the previous day, took a while to run in and get rev'ier as when new felt a bit tight and stiff, a solid saw

  23. He's using a lanyard with a carabina on both ends and a device that holds both ways. a rope grab or distel knot grabs one way only and can use one hand to pill the slack in, this system it appears you need both hands a simple version would be a lanyard with a carabina on both ends and a normal prussik or just use your climbing line for the change over
  24. Nice one Ian nice kit too!
