  1. Now ive tuned up my 201 im still sitting on the fence about it in general. picked up a 200 today, much more lively and responsive I really wouldnt want to run a 201 on a 7t sprocket 14" bar, i dont think it would cope too well. Next time you're stockholm way, you're welcome to try
  2. Simmilar thing here mate, a trial weeker had been sold the petzl srt harness as it was the cheapest, no sliding bridge really hampered him
  3. Good to see you're having fun Matt, but i find it a tad backwards that you worry about lanes being closed, yet go inseek of 'challenging' lanes where you're anticipating to get a landy in mud terrains stuck, and been going fast enough to plaster youre landy in mud with clods by youre window. green laning is a nice steady amble through the countryside imo, otherwise the red sock brigade will have more ammunition for their war on green laners! Would be great to see pics of you're landy at a pay n play day
  4. the other day i speedlined the brash and some chogs out of a pine with a tag line, could have gone straight into a trailer, then for the stem, felled it up the bank, tied off a rope into an oak behind, down to the landing to a pulley at the base of a birch and onto the van, slackened the rope, put a sling and pulley on the tipp and but of each log and a tag line, drove the van foward, tensioning the line and lifting the log, slowly released the tag line (wrapped round a tree) sending the log down. unfortunatly last log was a bit big and ended up pulling the anchor tree out of its shallow rocky roots. massive forces involved but it did save us a hell of a lot of time and no doubt back ache we 5:1 or drag logs/trees/bundles of branches with pulleys, ropes, van setups all the time and deal with the stuff near as possible to the stack site/trailer/chipper to save handling
  5. Nice one Steve! Has you're work shifted away from Gloria stuff now?
  6. both great saws, 441 has better anti vibes and a more modern saw, chainbrake stiffness seems common, 46 is a cracking saw, has a raw power. both great on 18-25inch bars depending on wood. my old 046 siezed (had a lot of use) gave it to burrell_ off here who rebuilt it and now i think he struggles to choose between his newish 441 and the old 046. think they're too close to decide between, but 46 would be my prefrence
  7. Capitalisation is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse".

  11. Here you are rob, whats this
  12. a bad silky scar on both my left and right index finger knuckle, no a+e stopping work ect. numerous little ones on hands chainsaw cut to my left thumb a few months back, topping saw got trapped in a cut, switched off, released saw as it fell a tooth caught me, lot of blood no pain, permanant nerve damage to thumb, on an island no 1st aid kit (not even roads!), vodka to cleanse, customer bandaged it and a bit of ellecy tape. got bored being grounded after an hour so carried on with the dismantles as a result we looked at getting 2 arbaid kits, one for each team, but the cost was too high! so got my mother (retired nurse) and sister (a+e sister) to put together 2 big kits aimed at our work for under 50quid for the pair
  13. Inventive rigging setups from other trees but dont underestimate the forces involved! felling stems into the back of trailers can damage the trailer but again, you can controll it with a rigging line
  14. How many can you link up? as many radios and headpiecies as you want? Do you have to keep hold of the button to talk, or can you press it once, talk hands free, then press it off? can you have one radio without the ear piece and one with working together? Thanks!
  15. WOW!! Nice!
  16. with respect to the original post, its not like stihl vs husky as hes not asking TW vs GM, he's wanting opinions on two specific comparable models
  17. Everyone uses alkaylite (sp) petrol, like Aspen here, maybe thats worth a try

  19. been faultless, naff all maintenance or tuning, can allways depend on it to work the same as it did the previous day, took a while to run in and get rev'ier as when new felt a bit tight and stiff, a solid saw
