  1. Havent read the whole thread but maybe have a read of Derren Browns "Tricks of the mind" has a good section on how to remember things. I think:001_tongue: Joking aside it is good though but you do have to practice quite a bit like most things. telephone,sausage,monkey,buttons,book..... springs to mind!
  2. Cant you just do the job through the week? Money would be more reasonable then.
  3. Pay good rates then.
  4. I reckon its a sport Billy bag. [ATTACH]57940[/ATTACH]
  5. Are they the new fandangled coronet/fracture stump pruning cuts?
  6. Ha you cut it down but complained someone had graffitied it! I bet I know what the tree would rather have. Only taking the pee a bit , thought it looked quite cool and better than being set on fire which is what usually happens.
  7. Well I saw a few bits that look like they fell off!
  8. Staining from nails/other bits of steel?
  9. I have a few broken ribs(well healed now) to know to never trust them.
  10. Thats well cool.
  11. Well since the price of oil has apparently doubled because of the trouble in Libya the £8 a gallon seems to be on the cards:thumbdown: Good info and post:thumbup1: If they have to put taxes up then put them up on income tax imo.
  12. Would a MEWP with a trailer be a better option?
  13. Fights usually break out over threads like this. Have a quick search for "husky or stihl" Out of the saws you listed I would go for MS660, brilliant saws. But in all honesty the 395 will be just as good.
  14. Now that was quite brilliant:thumbup1::lol: Second one, seen that before not nice!
  15. Is there a difference doing the above compared to say sending your company details and a covering letter to, letting agents, LA's,housing associations, landscapers, construction firms, ground works, tarmacing firms, architects, consultants, schools, etc etc etc. They all probably have some other tree firm on there books, isnt that also poaching? I think Im missing something in how low it all is.
  16. Tbh I couldnt see them lasting very long. Whats the next plan for getting track?
  17. Have you seen this in that link!? [ATTACH]57558[/ATTACH] Looks like a great way to get about. Not as cool as this little fella though[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHJJQ0zNNOM]YouTube - ‪Big Dog‬‏[/ame] Oh, 562XP looks good too.

    Ipads

You need to get an iPad with 3G and a sim and data contract to boot. You can't just sneak your mobile sim into the iPad as it's a special micro jobbie:sneaky2: Although I think google maps will store info and maps, you would just have to look at the area your going to get lost in while on a wireless network if you have no sim!
  19. I wouldnt mind knowing how.
  20. Actually good point, all of my rigging is natural crotch, and also a krab on a sling so yeah double braid is out I'm afraid. I should have mentioned that from the start. I feel like a complete idiot now. Cheers for suggestions though, I will check them out. I was going to get a few pulleys but I know that even if I have them i won't use them all the time and probably just end up wrecking the rope!
  21. tbh I'm surprised that anyone would do an app and not charge for it! I don't even knock the price off the tree job if we do. There a fair bit if with that goes into an app and theres no chance I would be doing that for free. Unless, it was a very good repeat customer, even then the job would have to be a good payer. Also is what's going on here really that much of a hanging offense? Especially since you haven't lost any jobs over it, shows that your customers prefer you. And before anyone asks no I don't try to get work this way, I'm far too lazy to bother looking for customers that way.
  22. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwOMnIuAGOY]YouTube - ‪Stereophonics - Mr. Writer‬‏[/ame] Just for you Lee , [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IakDItZ7f7Q]YouTube - ‪Coldplay - Violet Hill‬‏[/ame]
  23. I assume it didnt kill the tree, what did it do as in slowing them up?
  24. Time I bought a new one, just wondering what the general thoughts are on whats a good one to buy. Bearing in mind it needs to take a little bit of abuse.
  25. That is something that I believe shouldnt happen. Otherwise I/we could be potentially blamed for the failure of numerous trees in the future. Are there any cases of the above? ie tree surgeons being blamed for the failure of trees due to previous work?
