1. Excellent info, thanks very much. Think Ill ge some of those grippers.
2. I took a return soleniod to bits once because it was jammed and not dropping at all. Was years ago and they are probably a bit different but IIRC the return hole was fairly small so I would imagine it wouldnt take much to cause a bit of a flow problem. Never found anything wrong with the one I took to bits but after a good blast of kerosene and air it worked fine. I'm sure you know but make sure there is no pressure in the system anywhere when you start to remove bits.
3. Not had any real problems but I thought your server had crashed before as it wouldn't load up for about 2 hours! When it did was really slow and unusable. Seems ok now though.
4. I think education should be free and available to all. I cant see students working harder because they will have to pay fees back an issue tbh. They will take the piss no matter, possibly even more thinking "Ahwell if I dont get a decent job I wont have to pay the fees/loans back" Actually I know that to be the case as I heard it quite a few times when my missus was in uni. Plus what about those few sensible ones that dont like the idea of being in debt but want the education. What needs to happen is that uni's and colleges need to only have students that are willing to work and kick out at an early stage those that arent.
5. I'd be interested in ways to help prevent a few of the injuries that we all seem susceptible too,ie Carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis, golfers elbow. I had a bit of a lump on my wrist which I think was a ganglion, whacked it with a stick and it looks like its going now.

Ipads

I have an Ipad and think its the dogs. I think some people try to compare it to a laptop and therefore think its rubbish. Its not a PC or laptop but its still great.
7. That is a question and a half. I will sneak in quick and be nice, any idea on volume ie 1 cubic metre.....?
8. Fantastic Nice bit of artistic work there.
9. It is all about the cost from the beginning imo. They have to be cheaper than Stihl or why on earth would you buy one? Forget the fact that they could be £1 more expensive, the 020 is a known quantity, the people who buy it know what they are are buying and know why they want it. If you spend £450 on a saw and arent happy its not a good deal but if you spend £450 on a saw that you dont like when you knew you could buy a known good saw would really piss you off. If they come in at £399 and its a corker they will sell thousands.
10. Always good to know another cultivar. If that s the right describtion:laugh1: Out of interest why do you prefer it?
11. You are all bonkers, if my mum cost that much to travel she wouldnt. What type of dog is it?
12. Well since we always have which saw thread I thought I would ask which chain do you prefer on your pro saw? I usually go for the oregon super 70 but would like to hear of any better alternatives.
13. Excellent:thumbup1: Another good reason to recommend a Betula 'Jacquemontii' as a replacement TPO tree.
14. I asked at the Apf and they were a bit cagey. I said that if they were more costly than the 020 then they would be fighting a losing battle from the start and they seemed to agree. They know what they are up against and tbh it has to be less to get some interest. If it costs more than £1 more than an 020 I wont be buying one on principle.
15. Thats the best bit. Fat people are killing this country, but thats another thread.....(Ive lost 8 lbs recurrently so i'm not a fatty anymore:thumbup:)
16. I'm due a new top handle and think I might hold out for it. Hated all the previous Husky top handles but have a feeling on this one.
17. NOOOOO! Thats not it man!! The T540XP.

Pollarding?

All comments are fair unless you are personally attacking someone so dont worry about that. Hmm not sure about the tree canopy protecting us from the sun unless there is a massive amount for planting. I dunno what the big deal is with anti pollarding. Yes its great if a reduction is carried out in the earlyish stages of a trees development then maintained, but it doesnt happen. I think sometimes people forget that others put a lot of money into there property and would like to enjoy it and their little bit of private space. When a tree unowned by them, and more often under the care of the LA is allowed to grow unmaintained and unchecked then surely they have a right to get something done and a 2 meter reduction usually doesnt fit the bill. Pollard them but on a regular basis and all is happy.
19. Interesting stuff nice1. Is it only the downy birch? If so pity that, always fancied some birch wine.
20. More often than not you can find bits of the nail stuck in the cutter, remove it and its fineish:thumbup1: Sandstone can destroy a chain before you know whats happened! I imagine it must get costly with bandsaw type blades though:scared1:
21. OI weve had one for 10 years or something and it still works. Apparently they are designed to pick up dirt of the floor and it does exactly that. WTFinell else is it supposed to do! Your only jealous because Mr Dyson is a billionaire, besides his hand drier blade things are boss.
22. Best one yet.
23. I reckon this one will be a winner. Only checked it out at the APF though.
24. I voted for Dyson because... 1 We have one and every bloke has the excuse that they have seen them on the TV therefore know what they are. 2 What is a Miele? 3 Your arguing about a hoover, the least manly of all things, well maybe rubbing shoulders with the iron, so for that reason your wife should win.
25. Jessh! You wouldnt think he was only 42 when you look at his pic!! Have a drunken one.
