  1. There's no room for poor workers:thumbup1: That doesn't apply to me though thank God:blushing:
  2. 2/3 sounds about right as long as we are talking roughly equal experience and not an old hand on the ground and a college guy up the tree. There are more risks involved being a climber and that justifies to me a higher wage.
  3. At least around here plenty of people would of stopped. They would of nicked the phone out of your hands and made off in your car, but they wouldnt of just passed you by.
  4. I like the fact you are using a tatty old rope with nicks in.
  5. I'd just do the hours your paid for, it would be like a little pay rise. I wouldn't expect any of my staff to do an extra hour every day,as long as everyone pulls there weight when required and has the odd early dart everyone is happy. Its good to see your boss is having some decent hols and has a few nice hobbies, otherwise why bother. Plus gives hope to some of us that dont take as good a wage as some employees! Times are indeed hard and as others have said it aint a bad wage tbh.
  6. Its a keyboard app. Probably best to have a look here since its sort of hard to explain but works really well.[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTooBnKAdSw]YouTube - Swype Versus iPhone[/ame] I think the samsung galaxy S has it installed so try and have a little mess about with that if you can. Otherwise its a free download. I have the HTC Desire and think its a great phone, has the odd prob but they all do, main gripe is the external speaker is rubbish, not very good for sat nav but still works ok, plus its free from google maps:thumbup:
  7. Try an android touch screen phone with swype.
  8. Yep there too many people with no manners whatsoever! A quick thanks, nod of the head, smile or a wave cost absolutely nothing especially when someone has obviously gone out of their way to help you. The next time someone doesn't even acknowledge my existence when I hold a door open for them might just find themselves being tripped up:sneaky2:
  9. What knot did you end up using? I woulda just gone for a doubled up bowline, used this to pull trucks out of fields and has always undone with ease. When pulling trees over I use a wagoners hitch to get some tension plus it always comes undone afterwards. Dunno if it would work with a winch though!
  10. Yes they do IME. As a contractor TPO's are a PITA to me and my paying customers. I'm not saying we shouldnt have them, but the above is true.
  11. I dnot tinhk tehres aytnihng worng wtih a bit of srtgnae tpynig.
  12. and you deserve it saying that! "Give me your best price"! How long does the OP think the job would have taken?
  13. Because its easier to hide when having a sneaky wee in the chip of course!! I see not many passed there NPTC unit CS 1 :- The art of weeing in public sneakily. Never did go for number CS 2.
  14. It's all a bit of a sad state of affairs saying an LA approved contractor should carry out the work. Last time I was on an LA approved list all I had to do was send in a copy of my PL insurance, how poor is that!
  15. You all have it wrong. She is staying still, its the rest of the universe that is spinning! But which way does it spin? Thats cool that:thumbup1: By looking at the pointing/stinking out leg I can make it change direction.
  16. Theres a very good reason why true professionals dont angle the greedy boards and I cant believe no one has mentioned it!
  17. I think its a great idea and good luck with it. As for ideas, I probably don't have anything of use.
  18. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLyVJ2meQuA]YouTube - said it all Take That[/ame]
  19. Pic 1 and 2. Pic 3, is that your yard?
  20. Oooops sorry if I caused some confusion. At least you know how to do both jobs now. Plus, put your hand/thumb over the circlip when prising it off in case it springs out never to be seen again!
  21. I use an impact driver but I won't recommend it as some recon it can snap the crank! Use the plastic tool you get with the saw that goes into the spark plug hole to lock the crank. Don't forget the nut is a left hand thread, turn clockwise to loosen. You can put starter cord down the plug hole to also lock the crank our a rag, you just have to make sure you don't jam it in one of the ports and damage the piston rings or slice bits off when undoing the nut.
  22. Surgely it all depends on what the company classes as a near miss. I am always interested in how accidents really happen and do think it is very important to inform when very serious near misses with a high potential for injury happen. A mate of mine who works in a different industry although is supposed to report on any near misses that happen on the way to work ie someone nearly pulls out in front of you then stops at the very last second while driving!
  23. I heard that the problem was the head gasket going , letting water in that then hydrauliced the engine, bent con rod etc. Is that the case or is it something different?
  24. Surely theres a big difference if its seasoned in round lengths or split. In the former there wouldnt be much difference in weight or moisture content I would expect.
  25. Aye it is fair depressing when you think of the living and working conditions those people have to put up with. Best to just look at the comedy factor really:laugh1: On a positive note it was taken from an article discussing the value of Earth's biomes. ATM they rate rain forest as $91-£23,000 per hectare per year key value being climate regulation, gene banks(for medicinal plants etc.) and erosion prevention.
