1. Thats what sawdust becomes when you blow it from the grass and path into the borders.
2. Husky should step up to the plate and hand you a couple to try out Steve. With the marketing power this site has it could make a huge difference to there sales IF it's a good un and IF it gets a good review. Although if it comes back as another big let down:001_huh: Think I'll buy one if the reports comeback that it doesn't fall apart in the first week:
3. That should say prototype. I think the guys trying them out are lantra trainers. Tbh (and no disrespect to the lantra, if im right guys)I don't know why they don't do some R&D with tree firms who will use and abuse the saws to death.
4. It has two fixing for the chain brake. The one at the show is a pro type (version 5 i think they said)and they are still working on it to fix a few niggles. They are apparently going to increase the engine to around 40cc. Oh and it has 3 different sizes of the top handle that they supply with the saw.
5. The thing I didnt like was the arse end. I preferred the older husky tear drop shape. Well actually I never liked the husky top handle but the arse was the best bit:blushing:
6. Hope the GTX boots are red to complete your outfit.
7.
8. I think it will be a serious contender to the 020. Its nothing like any of the other top handle husky's from what I can see.
9. OI yeah me. as per my post above yours. Tbh I dont think it a sound and safe method.
10. Do you think the top holding wood really holds it for any length of time? It looks like it moved fairly fast to me tbh. I have done more or less the same thing but not bothered with the top holding wood and always thought of it as a bit of a quick/naughty way rather than the more controlled/slower method of gob/back cut/wedge nibble sides and use a felling lever to roll the tree out. All I'm saying is I dont think it holds any better or gives you more of a chance getting out of the way.
11. It could be a simple adjustment on the tick over screw or low idle screw etc OR it could be knackered ie ran without two stroke and the bore and piston are shot.It can still run but very badly. Its too difficult to say without having a good look at the saw. Try and buy a new saw. Just get as much money together as you can and spend it all on a new saw.
12. Ha that's what I thought too. I've ben to scotland twice and it trained every day! Plus its also stuffed full of customers with plenty of readies:thumbup1:
13. Looking good:thumbup1: No doubt with the hard work you have put in you will get a good return.
14. If you can get to the APF tomorrow you should get a good deal and hopefully plenty of advice.
15. Whether you fell it or leave it as a habitat stick I hope you will be planting another. OK well hopefully not another pop:laugh1:
16. True. I have done my knees in a few times not bad though due to twisting and straining on awkward positions. Ditto above about the wrists, elbows and shoulders though!
17. Oh dear. Maybe best to clarify for those few that may have thought I was being serious, I was not. I wouldn't want someone having a major accident because they thought I would laugh at them for wearing a chin strap or seat belt and heaven forbid that they should have a trouser falling down incident:scared1: So my sincerest apologies to all, well all except one, you know where you can stick your personal attacking comments:sneaky2: Do you actually think that me not wearing a chinstrap makes me feel big? And that i would really mock someone for not using PPE! Good God man what are you on about and as for throwing away ear protection! Anyway let's leave it at that please. As for the OP question, no it's not a silly question but it looks like it depends like lots of H&S stuff on how you interpret it. If its for an employee it's always best to take their recommendations as red.
18. Calm down! I was clearly taking the piss! SFW? Theres too much nonsense on what we are supposed, recommended allowed to use. Nonsense as in does anyone really understand!?
19. Pay at the gate.
20. If your only looking for a short length of rope it might be worth asking one of the traders advertised on the right. They might have some odd lengths left over, worth a shot.
21. Over the course of say 8 hours you will be way way slower than a splitter.
22. I thought ear muffs are what keep your helmet secure! I have never liked chinstraps and they are the first thing to get thrown in the bin when I unwrap a new helmet. Its like a seat belt in your car, it will probably save your life in an accident but it feels uncomfortable and makes you look like a big girls blouse. No contest on what to do. P.S same with braces, but they wont save your life.
23. I'd buy a yale xtc type, cheaper and a very good rope.
24. Kw1 4 Just ignore the signs and follow the sat nav.
25. Sorry to be thick but was does that mean? Mark, you could of just put some of the good old magic chain oil that desolves the stumps right after the cheque clears.
