    Nice vid as usual. Been too long since we last used a crane, always makes me smile how quick you can demolish a tree with one. Think I paid around £600 for a 50 tonner for the day, although only needed it for about 2 hours:thumbup: City crane about £400 I think.

    Just out of interest, anyone got any ideas on how much a processor that just sort of did the stuff the one in the video does would cost? OK it will be quicker but you get the idea.

    I dunno, I think I will stick to butt and tip tying in regards as the safest method. Did work efficiently though in the vids.

    If he had a blade that would split it into quarters it would well speed it up. Nice bit of work though making that.

    I'll give you a tip. Make sure you tighten the grub screws up. Otherwise the shaft can spin in the bearing knackering the shaft. Apparently:blushing:

    As Bob says if you HAVE to lower stuff your self because of bad groundstaff then sort them out! If your on your own or are just getting a bit out the way while they are busy then fair enough.

    Ha too true! Owning a helicopter is one of my musts in life before I die. A real one BTW, I have a few small ones.

    HA yeah, drill a hole in the outer casing and tap a thread that will take a grease nipple. Job done give me £90 + VAT per bearing, guaranteed to last longer* than a standard bearing. * May depend on the weather and or seismic activety.

    Even if none exist(or as mentioned above its very compact and not much space) surely a bearing manufacture could come up with something and make a good few quid!

    Try putting a stain remover in. I used something like oxy clean to get some engine oil out of a hi viz jacket, worked sort of, well it was better than just normal washing tablets.

    Pity that, but yeah I could see them doing some kind of upgrade kit if it was easy enough/possible. Although I'm sure I read somewhere on AT that someone had or was doing a bearing upgrade.Was quite a while ago though.

    I think because they weigh under the magic 750kg also helps the sales. If I had one I would seriously look at getting an upgraded greasable bearing in there, cant be rocket science to get one fitted/made up.

    If your just doing the exam with no training then the best of British to you, you may need it! I hope you never have to rescue me if you pass.
