1. :dito:X2 An the local electric company.
2. I just couldn't be doing with the hassle you lot seem to have with regular none/bad payers! The amount of trouble I get doesn't even bear thinking about. I,d never ask for cash payment or for it up front but then if I did get cash flow from constant late/non payers then I would prob change my mind. I like cheques, everything in and out of the same account for me.
3. Using chrome ATM but it seems to have loads of problems so I'm switching back to ie. At least with Microsoft things seem to work consistently!
4. Otherwise I meant this one.
5. Oh hang on I thought you meant the top cover, the air filter cover just unscrew the black plastic know but but the choke on full so you can wiggle the filter off. I think!
6. Use a flat head screwy to undone the screw that has a rubber washer around it. Its on the top of the casing above the model name on the left.
7. Judging by that you shoulda used spikes and done less damage:thumbup1: Red boots, really.
8. Owning a business in this country means your a target to get taxed by everyone. We pay more for insurances, water, electricity gas business rates, banking etc etc so paying every 5 years to keep up with my certs is something I don't do. No doubt I will have to retake my driving license again soon because I drive a commercial vehicle! No doubt I could learn a new thing or two, especially about rigging, but well I suppose that's what Arbtalk's for, and it's free.
9. Its been scientifically proved by NASA and those clever bods at CERN that the more signs, cones and barriers you use the more people will turn up and want to move them out of the way to get a good luck and feel of what is going on. They attract idiots who cant think for themselves and have no control over their actions. Never think that you can expect people to adhere to the control measures you use, you have to watch out for them and try and be polite or they will just stand around ranting and getting in the way even more.
10. I dunno why. Web site is fine as long as you click on the free download then wait the 60 seconds otherwise they will start asking you to pay for a premium account etc. I've just downloaded it then scanned it and it came back clean. If its on your pc somewhere try searching for the file 034_036_036QS.pdf, but if youve given it back then dont bother.
11. I thought all us pro tree people carried at least 100K in the ashtray for such emergency situations.
12. There are some cracking little tales on here. But, I wonder how many of us have had to claim on the insurance, all the incidents seem quite minor and I doubt they would cost more than the excess the insurance companies require you to pay first. Which leads me on to wonder why my PL costs me so much:confused1: Well OK its not a huge amount of money but it is in relation to my truck and car insurance.Plus from what I hear they are going to make it difficult for people who are new to the game, which is quite possibly the worst thing they can do. Come on someone musta got there monies worth and had a big un.
13. You only stop for 10 mins when working all day every day! That's some physical feat of endurance no messing.
14. How thick is the steel that you will be welding on the crane? Since that would be the most critical bit of welding you will be doing make sure you get it right! With the mig does come the problem with gas, you either need to get an account with someone like boc or try and nick a pub co2 bottle of someone, the co2 works better than most say it does, well ime. Or use the gasless wire, it doesnt weld as good but if your mainly welding outside then you will probably want to use that instead of gas. Oh and then you will probably need a new regular for the full size gas bottles. Its just one of those things, before you know it youve spent £500!
15. Looks really good. I hope you spiked it to save time.
16. I only use mig welders but I know that with mig you want the metal nice and clean with no rusty bits and definitely no paint, grease etc, as they burn they affect the weld. I think the arc is a bit more forgiving than the mig but I always found mig to be a lot easier to use. Make sure you get the right rods to do the job ie thickness of metal etc. If the bodywork is very thin metal you might struggle to not blow holes in it. OH BIG TIP, DO NOT GET ARC EYE!!!! Keep the mask on!
17. Personally I'd nick the rope with a saw about 10 foot or so from the spliced eye after about 10 mins use from new. 40 meters would be plenty for me so id be cutting 20 off and getting it spliced, our have a go yourself.
18. I don't remember giving any advice only commenting on a seriously bad bit of work. So is best to recommend a dogstooh cut on every fell, just in case.
19. So your saying the only way was with a dogs tooth and we got it wrong? Amazing that you can say that just from the pic. I too have never had a problem like that in 15 years so I assume that I am doing things fairly well. It looked to me that that tree didnt have much of a lean and was pulled over too hard.
20. I know, I'm not very good with a saw tbh. In my defence the last one was over 10 years ago. I could say its the experience and learning from my mistakes, but, in reality I'm probably lazier now and work slower.
21. The odd cracked flag and the odd holed fence panel. I'm better at damaging myself then other peoples property. 4 Cuts with the chainsaw 2 requiring surgery all leaving nastyish scars. Also broken a few ribs once while freeclimbing to pull out a hanger I had left:blushing: Oh and a few cables with the stumpy all CATV except one armoured cable buried 0.5mm below the soil:sneaky2: still my fault though.
22. What was that all about! An why were they hitting the horse and spitting on it. There some weird horrible freaky people out there.
23. Indeed! Plus I bet they had a big rope with a big pull! Still better than my efforts though.
24. It is quite possibly well knackered then unfortunately. Best would be a piston kit and new cylinder, worst is that, plus a crank rebuild. Plus depending on what carb it has you may have to look at buying one of those too so have a serious think if its going to be worth it.
25. Sounds good:thumbup1: especially if its an oldish saw that might otherwise be stripped for parts, put to one side, never to see daylight again then thrown away after 10 years without using a single spare. Try this link. Download 034 036 036QS.pdf for free on uploading.com
