  1. Surely this will be published on line somewhere for people to read?
  2. Its not only VAT you should be looking at there is also general inflation on living costs. If you don't have a slight increase year on year then really we all work for a little less each year.
  3. To me climbing is all about technique and knowing what you're doing and how to do it before you ascend. I'm nearly 39 and do not see myself slowing down on the climbing over the next 10 years. In fact I love it and still enjoy each new tree and climb. Mind Over matter for me.
  4. Glad he got fined, should go further and ban him from keeping any animals ever.
  5. mmm, strange how a very similar post to this created a broad scope of opinion from members, wonder why they are not posting now??
  6. The roads are a joy at the moment, as for work have plenty to be able to go off on holiday for a while and come back in September with a couple of months already sorted.
  7. work the land as if you will live forever, but live your life my friend as if you may die tomorrow:001_smile: Do it nice or do it twice:001_smile: Today is the start of the rest of your life:001_smile:
  8. Try Connaughts who recently purchased Fountains. they have vacancies for you.
  9. mad one, very anxious incident especially with the baby around. Hope you are all ok.
  10. These are usually put up when there is going to be near future works on the sites. The point is to relocate any species found to a suitable location, they stay in place for a period before the works and then in come the dozers etc. I think it is fantastic that the wildlife is cared for in this way and may we see more of it. As for a money spinner then I'm sure those fencing guys out there are loving this.
  11. Hi Steve, I'm not too far away from folkestone this week, give me a bell on 07817191055 and i'll come and have a look and quote for it. Dave.
  12. PARISH MAGS, keeping me busy all year round. I advertise in 6 have a quarter page in each and all in for the year it costs me £180 (thats all 6)
  13. It's your choice and freedom of expression if you want a tattoo, just don't expect everyone to agree with it though.
  14. Was considering trying this out, after this post though and the varied experiences of you guys. I will stick with the Prussik, never let me down and as I'm under no pressure when climbing then speed is not an issue. For me it's not broken so it doesn't need changing.
  15. What's up, everyone forget your b'day so you had to post it? Splitting logs? Take a day off, lifes too short. Have a good evening later, Happy birthday.
  16. Hope you don't get caught drinking on the job either!!
  17. I used to have one and loved it until troubles started. Problem with the imports are the parts and electrics, if a fault develops then it will cost you a fortune, also they are prone to a major failing in the cooling system which causes the engine to blow. Get it checked before buying and my advice would be stay clear of the imports. Very, Very juicy as well. I now run a ranger and the fuel costs are half!! I ended up selling it with a blown engine for 350 to a guy in wiltshire.
  18. The layout is top quality, for me though there is far to much literature on it. Remember you will be lucky to get 4-5% comeback in enquiries and this is no guarantee of work. If I recieve a flyer with an essay to read then it goes in the bin. Be bold and clear in what you print and let your craftsmanship do the talking.
  19. Why not go to work for the day, surely you don't sit there staring at it!!!
  20. If its under 7.5 cm at 1.3 metres from ground level then cut away, be sure to check on your LA website as some vary with diameter. If you want an outlet for them then Thatchers or Hedgelayers will buy it. Even better tell them to harvest it too!!!
  21. Husky orange, thing is they have changed the filler cap. it used to be black which worked a treat now the green ones are useless, I swapped it for the old black one and it still works and have the green ones as spare. The stihl ones I don't rate at all.
  22. Just to add a few topics that some find controversial: 1. The use and true safety of chainsaw gloves. when wet the most lethal things to hold a saw with! 2. Chainsaw trousers in hot weather. 3. "In house" training as opposed to proper nptc certs in particular woodchipper. I am with Rupe on this and can not see how you class rigging as controversial???
  23. He will need to speak to the local town hall , like we do here. Think he shouldn't have to much problem though. I've done work in Menorca and a season pruning planes near Bilbao.
  24. Excellent job, very satisfying being creative with the product.
  25. hi luke, I don't seem to have your number in my phone can you call me on my mobile 07817191055 re next week. Cheers Dave
