  1. "The incident happened last Friday (Nov 26) at around 4.30pm." "An emergency crew was sent out by Cambridge City Council to clear the tree on Saturday (Nov 27)." The above are quotes from the link I love the LA's idea of an "Emergence crew", who arrive..........the day after!!
  2. I would agree 25% is fine, but if you are going to turn the fire down low so its not roaring you may be better with it a little dryer. Just having the wood near the stove for a day will really help.

You could be onto something there Andy, I love butter and never wash my hands!!!

    Hand cream

I've been doing tree work for 17 years and my hands have always stayed nice and soft, I get some callouses, but nothing too rough. I have never used any creams.
  5. Very true, but its also £2500 on a years turnover, so as its not a lot I'm sure the customers won't mind paying it
  6. You can charge what you like. If your costs have increased, you need to pass that cost on, IMO.
  7. Yes, but I think you will only have third party cover.
  8. I almost got into retaining logs, even bought a 30t splitter and a processor. Then thought better of it, sold the gear and my 300t pile of timber by the arctic load. Reading threads like this make me very glad I did.
  9. Does your mog have the little pump next to the gear stick??, its called a pilot start or something. If it has you can get some stuff from merc, you put it in a little reservoir near the engine, then just give it a pump before starting and it start no problem. And unlike "easy start" it won't knacker your engine.
  10. When my dad was a lad one of his mate brought a live round into school, they threw it against a wall until it went off!!! It shot across the crowded school yard and stuck in the school gate post!!
  11. I climbed most of today. I think my groundie was colder than me.
  12. This is good advice, we have a Hobby and it great. I have a heater going in mine at the moment (to stop the plumbing from freezing) so it quite warm inside, but there is snow on the roof, so that shows how good the insulation is.
  13. I don't think so. Plus it would not be a very nice way to treat some one
  14. How come it has the easy chain tension adjuster?? I love the way you improved the seroundings for the after the makeover shots, lol!!
  15. No problems with the frost here. Well maintained equipment will still work well in sub-zero conditions. Wood does not get cold like steel or stone, the ground is hard so we make less mess. Frost is great and much better than rain.
  16. I would say this is true, March can be savage!!, IME.
  17. Do you always find the snow so exciting???
  18. Not in my house mate Its about 28 degrees in here and the rads are to hot to keep your hand on, I'm burning some nice green Ash that was felled last week
