  1. I have the alloy Gecko's, there are great!!, they were recommended to me by an arbtalker and I have recommended them to others, every one I know who has tried them think there great. The carbon fiber ones are lighter, but not adjustable in length, I have heard very good reports about these too. The only reason I did not go for the carbons was because I'm fairly rough with my gear and felt the alloys would stand up to being knocked about better.
  2. I think that poem reflects the fact that back then as today many people fail to properly dry and store their fire wood correctly. Elm is a good example, when green its 150% water and will not burn, but most of us will have burned dead Elm that has been dried by gravity and the wind, there are few better or hotter burning timbers. Some wood takes a lot of drying and needs to be kept dry or it will reabsorb water, but weight for weight all dry wood burns very well.
  3. Err not really, if two or more of us want it, then surely seeing who will bid the most is the best way of settling it.
  4. Could be worth looking into getting it chipped for biomass, it sounds like the ideal size for chipping.
  5. I was thinking Steve would want the "big guns", so thats why I suggested Stevie and Mozza , I was just hoping to tag a long. Sorry if I upset you, not my intention, honest
  6. I would guess he is more of a tractor man, than a climber. I hate those contraptions, they allow anyone to steal our work!! All be it much more slowly and at greater cost
  7. Who's "REF"?? and what does he want a tractor for??

    Bad Haircut!

This is what I want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told my wife just the other day that I wanted one of those Turkish ones I've seen on the telly!!!, but we don't have any round here
  10. I think over greasing tends to be on very high speed stuff like wood working saws and panes. I remember as a boy my dad (who is a joiner) was having problems with some new machinery. He was advised, by the supplier, that he had over greased it and had to put the bearings in the Aga to melt out some of the grease. With chippers and cranes I have found that by "purging" the bearings you push out the dirty old grease and replace it with nice clean stuff. But I'm certainly no expert.
  11. That looks like it would have been one nasty clear up!! Would you not find it easier too clear up as you went along??
  12. You need to be sure the blades are sharp, if the its been cut by the blades it can't wrap.
  13. My 9" Schiesling with 200+hp from the mog, chips them no problem.
  14. Shocking!! really shocking!!! My thoughts are with all who knew him, 41 is very young!!!
  15. Me, Stevie and Liam could be your northern reps if you like
  16. I feel quite sick after watching that. He is a tough old cookie, he did not squeal much!!! Why do some people not have the ability to look at something and realise whats going to happen? where did he think it was going to go???
  17. Very nice John!!! All the best for the festive season!!!
  18. Yes I'm working tomorrow, I was hoping finishing today, but we got some new dogs at the weekend and they have proved to be real escape artists, so I took yesterday off to do some fencing in my garden, so I'm working tomorrow to catch up.
  19. IMO this will give the council the heads up.
  20. Its not far from me and a tracked chipper would be very useful some times, so I'm hoping to go.
  21. They entered into a contract with the air line and airport operator, they have not had that contract fulfilled. According to EU legislation they should be fed and put up in a hotel if they cannot be flown. This has not happened, so they are unhappy. It seems perfectly reasonable for them to feel aggrieved and I really do not understand how this makes them selfish:confused1: Many of those who are slagging off those who are stuck in the airports are the first to winge when they feel let down by suppliers and the like
  22. Until the road ahead is blocked by trucks.
  23. Many of these people are just trying to get home. They are not all with Ryan Air.
