  1. If the tree is as big as he says, I think that will be plenty strong (you calling me fat??)
  2. Exactly!! Same goes for crossing your hands when driving, of course we all feed the wheel
  3. I would anchor in as shown in black, then us my strop to get up, it anything happened it would be a bit of a swing, but not the end of the world. Just what I would do, please feel free to tell me I'm a fool
  4. I've been a bit concerned on occasions, but I real do believe trees are much stronger than people give them credit for, even when dead. So I've always pushed myself on and the more times I've done this the more I find I have confidence in even the most wobbly trees. Maybe one day I'll find out the hard way that some are just not strong enough

  7. He's does not want "live chat" to crash later when the raffle draw in on. Its such a PITA when you take steps too stop a possible problem and it goes and back fires on you
  8. You could at least list TV program suggestions for that time or recommend some other web sites for us to visit
  9. I have the added advantage that because of my crane, I can offer to leave it in 14 foot lengths or take it away for free, but if they want it cut up that will of cause take time and cost them extra
  10. If you have a lad that fails to keep his saw sharp take them off He'll soon start keeping it sharp then
  11. I'm sorry mate, but thats just plain wrong, a business, is a business, regardless of how many owners, partners, shareholders or any other involved parties. The VAT threshold applies to any ONE business regardless and always has done. The only way what you describe could work, is if you and your wife both ran separate businesses and registered them both.
  12. Are any of your previous clients VAT registered?? If they are and if they are agreeable you can charge them the VAT retrospectively.
  13. Now that stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Do you think it needs a brew???? Did it used to belong to Bob???
  15. You can't, its not anyones job for you to steal.
  16. He can't have been much of a pro, if its a husky!!
  17. How do you know?? If he's not working for money he does not need any certs. The best hardwood faller I have ever worked with had no qualifications at all. We have no god given right to be paid to remove all trees. How do you think all the mechanics, decorators, plumbers, etc, feel about all the people who do there own or their friends jobs??
  18. Nice one, mines just the same but the 13 ton, mines been great, never given me a minuets bother and very quick, efficient and safe.
  19. I've worked with lads that always remove them, they said it stops you forcing the saw and makes them last longer.
  20. That was the concussion I came to too David But I know I would have more chance of being able to do it now, because of my kids, than before I had them.
