  2. How can it be a "spot check", if you know they are coming??
  3. Big tree!!!! Looks like your bottom cut on your hinge went a long way past the other cut, as there is some hinge forward of the rest. This is one of the best ways to produce a barbers chair!!, especially if you are winching or pulling in some other way.
  4. Burn and send Bob a pic of the flames!!
  5. Indeed, but these posts were hours apart.
  6. Not at all. I just find it bizarre that the same link would be posted three times
  7. Do some people not read what others have posted?????????
  8. I find most standing trees are upright.
  9. Most standing dead wood is ready for the fire, if its been stood dead for long enough.

    take that

I thought they were very good, great song, IMO.
  11. True. But this guy is not happy to climb without a climbing groundie and its not for his boss to tell him he should work without one. If I personally felt I may need rescuing I would quit, but thats just me.
  12. Years ago I took a beech off a building, I stripped it to just a pole then used a hiab to lift it just off the building, then just chogged it clear. I used ropes, pulleys and a winch to lift another.
  13. The first thing I would do is climb it and remove every thing but the stem. Are there any decent sized trees to the left of your pic?? it looks like there could be. You could set up some pulleys in these trees and run lines over them to the fallen tree and see if you can lift the stem off the roof.(may take much less lifting than you think) If you can, then its just a case of chunking off enough to allow it to fall without hitting the building. Could you get a unimog with hiab in??
  14. So where would you draw the line Lee?? If your house is bigger than mine am I free to steal from you??
