  1. TBH, if the saw hit your foot hard the chain brake will (and should) have come on, meaning the chain would not pull out enough material for it to shop the chain. The fact that you did not need to strip the saw suggests this. Glad you OK.
  2. There does not appear to be any hinge??? I'm surprised you let him start making a back cut, when he had cut such a tiny gob.
  3. I would have thought you'd be better selling the trailer and crane together and just buying a S/H trailer without crane.
  4. That sounds very cheap to me. Not sure I would want my night disturbed for that sort of money.
  5. This is from the Esse web site (first one I came to) "So your aim should be to dry the wood out to below 25% moisture content, this process is called seasoning. As the name implies, you should store your wood for a season or so, while it dries, but there are things you can do to speed up seasoning by cutting the wood now rather than just before you use it."
  6. TBH, I think 25% is fine, after a few days in the log basket in the house they will be around 22% which is what is often used by stove manufactures when giving their KWH outputs.
  7. So why are you so upset about this other guy???
  8. I never use MEWP's, hate the things, same goes for ladders. And I only use my crane for lifting timber. The amount of climbing I do depends very much on the work I get in.
  9. The secret is to sneak up on it and then run up it, you need to cut off your own body weight before the tree realizes whats going on.
  10. Not had sugar in my brews since I was 18 mate. I like cakes and chocolate though, so I'll be cutting back.
  11. I think that was Bob mate, but I could be wrong
  12. Would this be a good idea?? just to get things started?? I will do what ever it takes!!!
  13. I have porridge for breakfast (have done for 20 years). Should I try to have no bread at lunch??
  14. Not at all I think with a few tweaks to diet I can get back to my ideal fighting weight. I know if I leave it it will only get worse and be harder to sort. I really hate the way I feel just now. I only put on fat around my organs (which is very unhealthy) so my stomach gets bigger but it tight not wobbly, my dad is just the same. My joints are not getting any younger, so the last thing they need is to be carrying any extra weight.
  15. I was 12.5 stone for most of my adult life. Since reaching 40 (I'm now 41) I have found my waste line expanding . I am now over 13.5 stone and I feel bloated and unfit:thumbdown: So its time to take action. I have aways had a beer or a glass of wine with my evening meal so I've stopped that, now I am only going to drink on the weekend. I'm swapping chocolate biscuits for more fruit in my lunch box and not have crisps any more. I have always been very active and have never before had any real issues with my weight, so I would really appreciate any tips on shedding the pounds. Cheers Dave
