  1. No I would not. But it sounds like your price may have been more than a little steep.
  2. So?? They are step ladders for hedge cutting, I can't climb some privet hedges and must use steps
  3. A good name is earned, by providing a quality service. It takes time.
  4. After you have cut through your chogg, start cutting the next one, the apply chain brake and leave the saw in the wood while you throw the cut chogg. That way you don't have the saw pulling you out the tree
  5. Thats fungi mate, get it felled.
  6. Never cross mine. I would not cut from both sides, just get a bigger saw and stay put.
  7. I'm glad they are not my tyres.
  8. True, but the fire box on the pool heater is not huge, so keep it in over night or while I'm out working could be good. Also others with pool heaters could a a market for you, as the look of the fuel is of no concern, its all about efficiency.
  9. Good point, although I tend to use a pull line rather than wedges (not sure why, just habit I think) I have always found that if the cut is right the tree can sit back and stay put, while I put in a line. Obviously on larger trees I would install a line first and get a little tension.
  10. I guess the trees I do are much smaller and the winds less strong.
  11. Do you get a longer hotter burn with briquettes, due to their density?? I have a log burning pool heater, which I just use my own logs on, but if briquettes give a longer burn, they would be great for keeping it in over night. I'm sure the same would be true for many who use stoves to heat their homes.
  12. That the one, practice, practice, practice, practice, and then practice some more. You always get dust when making the angeled cut for the gob, as you are not cross cutting.
  13. You can just get a large splitter and break down the bigger stuff and then put it through the processor. Unless you are only buying in thinnings you are always going to have over size stuff.
  14. Just about says it all really I also heard that Bear stay in a hotel at night, then goes out to his shelter or tent in the morning to start the filming. Ray is the real deal!! and any one who can get a chubby as Ray from living of the land must know what he's doing!! PS. What sort of a name is Bear??????????
  15. The wind is often my friend and makes life much easier With the right cut it perfectly safe.
  16. Great machine, with much more splitting force than most other machines in its class. I had one, but sold it because I don't have the time or inclination to do fire wood.
  17. This sort of thing AM FM Portable Pocket Radio Headphone Battery 1x AAA R3 on eBay (end time 21-Nov-10 16:21:12 GMT)
  18. I listen too radio 4 or radio 2 all day when working, I have a small radio that fits inside my shirt and ear phones. I've been doing this for the last 15 years. The other day I forgot to take it with me and the day really dragged.

    My Day

When my dad was an apprentice joiner, his Auntie came round to his mums one day in a state. She said she'd had a dream where Frank (my dad) was covered in blood. Later that day my dad arrived home early covered in blood, he had planed the tips off the fingers of his left hand, the planer blade had thrown the blood over him
  20. Indeed, thats what I was thinking. Better to use a technique that allows you to stop and rethink if needs be.
  21. Nice one!!! MEWP's are for girls!
