  1. Bloody Hell thats early.
  2. About 16 years ago I was working Logging in New Zealand,I heard a guy kind of yodeling and though not alot of it.Some of the Maori guys used to sing when they were felling. Then I saw the other Faller stumbling around and realised somthing was wrong. I ran over and the guy was in a bad way,he had lost half of his face and blood was pumping out of a empty eye socket.I radioed the Yarder to say what was up.He had dropped his felling belt that had his first aid kit on it.We were taught to use the casualty's dressing first and like a nob I took off trying to find his belt instead of using mine.I found his belt and returned to find him semi conscious. After applying both his and my feild dressings to no real avail some guys came down the Hill to tell me the Helo was on its way but we had to carry him up the Hill as it was too tight to get the machine in the gully. By the time he was up on the Skid Site he had turned from a natural brown to green, was pale and pretty much looked dead. The Helo landed and off he went to Rotorua Hospital. What had happened was that a long Stick had come out of a tree he was felling,it struck him because he wasn't looking up.
  3. Everthing is more expensive.Bring all that you will need.
  4. Sycamore Sidepipe?
  5. Thanks alot to Tom and the others who showed me where to find one. Its funny that a Part that is so common in the UK can be so foreign in another country. No one who I showed pictures of the hitch to knew even how it worked.
  6. Cool.Thats very kind of you Tom.I think the one I am after is 3 or 3.5 Tonne.
  7. Ebay is too slow, the guy wants 8 to 10 days deliver inside the UK.
  8. The Push Button is not needed Tom.The Big Jensen has a Eye instead of a Ball coupling and I want to tow it with the Chev.
  9. Hello Does anyone have the phone number of a Trailer Parts Shop that probably Stocks these Hitches? I have had no luck finding one in Norway. The UK stockists I found online wern't much help.
  10. The Bark is excellent kindling, pull some off,dry it and try it out.
  11. To be honest I don't know about the UK mate.Birch is all people want to buy here in Norway. Why don't you market it as "Odin ved" meaning the god of thunders wood or "Thor ved","Smelterved" Furnace wood.Dress the name up a little.
  12. Because Dry Birch Sells by itself?
  13. Because wood burns better dry?
  14. It will be fine by next winter. Sell it on its own.
  15. "If you truly beleive that, your an inexperienced off roading TW@T":001_smile:
  16. After the killing that was made by some Firewood importer in the past two winters here in Norway, alot of people have jumped on the bandwagon. Now after a fairly mild two months and the end of the Winter in sight, the retailers are struggling to shift stock. All have dropped their prices and are uniformally offering free delivery.
  17. Norway seems to grant asylum to anyone.Thats not ment to sound flippent but he could try...
  18. He could try for political asylum in Scandinavia?
  19. "Breaker 1,9 this is Rubber Duck" [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAPRrdgYU7o]Convoy Theme Song - YouTube[/ame]
  20. £160 "Rigging fee". You can't go back on a contract. His son wanted to save money by being dishonest, now it will cost them for being cheap.
  21. It works the other way too. On friday I arrived at the job to find it had already been done.Despite the Elderly client accepting the job,one of his sons decided my quote was too high and got someone else in. He is getting a Bill for wasting my time.
  22. Lol. The access is too tight. Thanks for all the replies everyone.
  23. I have split payment up over two Months.Did a job like that today. It makes sense for a Client to get all the work done in one go,for example Children tidying up the Home of their Parents before putting it on the Market. As long as you have the agreement in writing.
  24. I have a fellig job,13 Large Dirty Coastal Minging Sitka Spruce. There is no way of getting a chipper in there short of a Helo.I have agreed with the owner to burn the Branches and I am unsure as to how much will be left after I have torched the pile. To anyone who has burned Spruce Brush, did it go well with the larger diameter stuff?
  25. The top feed roller bearings are sealed units. No grease from any grease points gets the them.Squeaking on my one,is usually small stringy twigs balled up at the end of the top feed roller. Woodpicker has a good idea about removing the Spacer. You will see it when you remove the Bearing block. The earlier Bearings failed faster than the later ones. The ones I found were a bit wider than the originals and ment I had to cut the spacer down abit. But just take the shaft out and have a look. Its just four nuts and its out.
