    I like how it can be raised without extending the width of the Machine. How long has it been tested out in the feild? I am pretty skeptical about the robustness of the uprights bolted to the Track Frame,the rocking action of the machine would be tough on that union even with Gussets. I hope I am wrong,because its a great idea and I would love to have one. Whats the price?

    Once I was working in the UK years ago,this lady comes over and ask's for a quote.Over the road we went and into her back garden,there was a Ash Tree of about 60 foot in the corner. "That Tree" she said "£500" I replied "Great" answers the Woman,"When can you do it?" "After the job we are on now,go get the money and we'll have it done by the time you are back" Off she went to the Bank,I stood on top of a Wheely bin,felled it into the Brambles on the Railway siding,cut the Stump into Rings,over the Wall they went.15mins later we are on the Blower and Brush £500 the richer!

    To late. I have a number of recently unemployed chaps, former Squaddies and Postmen who will sit their feling tickets at my new Arb Center that will be built on site. Quick and the dead Mark.

    Whats the ground like? Would it be more suited to a Large Tractor Towed Chipper or somthing on Tracks? Make sure your get some pictures,love a clearance job me.

    And older person might need to learn the job,but at least they will know how to work. Many youngsters are hard workers,however many more need to adjust their attitude to work. To answer your question,what would make your more attractive would be your pre 97 licence,your maturity and the fact that you took it upon your own back to retrain.

    Totally depends on the Machine. I have bought three chippers at 5K or less.All were reliable trustworthy machines.Take someone along who knows their stuff.

    Logger´s in New Zealand,especially Skiddy´s (people who trim and cut logs to length) would get about a year from a saw. Running 8 Hours a day,using up to 20L of Fuel a day. You used to get "Chainsaw allowance" a non taxable payment that was used to buy parts and Bars.It was about 150% the cost of a new saw over a one year period.

    Excellent Post:congrats::congrats: Like alot of people on here,I have felled a good few large Trees.However in 17 years of doing this job.I can only think of a handfull that I needed a bar Longer than 36".And non of those were in the UK.

    It really depends on how you have built the Lad up.If you have introduced him to Machinery and graft at a young age and gradually built his confidence and ability then you alone will know his limits. Its a question you really need to ask yourself.

    Little is the operative work here Mick.Due to a 12 year olds small stature and natural fearless nature,any dangerous job with tight acess is suitable. Steeple Jack,Pipe Cleaner,Boiler De-Coking,etc.
