  1. How are they holding up nearly 6 months down the line?
  2. Jump on the Ferry from New Castle to Bergen when it restarts next year, spend a weekend in Sunny Bergen and return with 205L of Aspen for £300.
  3. True. Speed lacing like alot of Boots have,is a bit of a "love/hate" design. It seems to work well on some Boots, not so great on others. Tubular or circular eyes with enough length in the laces is probably a better design,as we tend to put the Boots on only once a day. I think the best idea is the hooked eyelets that the North American Custom Boots have, you need special Laces however they never seem to get unhooked.
  4. I would like to hear more about these Boots. I am looking for a pair of Boots for the winter,I like the way the Rubber extends from the Sole to the upper on these boots.Does it stay stuck to the upper for the life of the Boot? It rains alot here, waterproof Boots are important.
  5. Its "cos savin time ain´t a crime". A winch is cheating,no "stunt fell" can be made with a winch.Winches indicate planning, calculation and control futher than the fell itself. "Stunt fell" (The felling of a Tree in one whole peice, unasisted by mechanical advantage further than the use of Wedge(s) in a situation where dismantling by climbing the Tree would have been judged more prudent or rational). That is a "Stunt Fell". End of.
  6. I own two and have owned another untill it was stolen. The A340 is a heavy well built machine, with tremendous infeed power and chip velocity.Very easy to maintain due to the way the Engine swings away from the rest of the cutting unit. The down side of the machine,is that small branches can catch at the end of the top feed roller and hinder feeding untill you reverse the rollers to spit it out. I have a 528T Tracked machine, made in 2002 with 2000Hours on it.Another well build solid reliable machine.Easy to maintain, cheap to fix, what more could you want?

  8. They are for sale here in Norway.I had a look at one, didn´t run it.Wasn´t impressed with its construction, however the proof is in the using.
  9. Most of the work is not that hard, most of the work is not that dangerous. If you want hard and dangerous go to Canada and try to get on a windfirming or single stem harvesting crew. The danger and hardship are matched by the pay. There are many, many new starts entering the industry and climbers are not in demand like they used to be.The jobs are not that big,the prices put on jobs are not that big, however the costs of business are rising out of porportion to the income.
  10. Depends on the state of the Tree Ian.Some times its less dangerous to come off with the pick, than to stay attached to a compromised stem.Ie,split, rotten etc.

  19. Get your HGV and Trailer. Bing, bong, lotsa jobs!
  20. Well..... The price you paid for it,minus the repair cost, would logically equal its value.
