If the Ground is fairly easy just drop them.The Top will likely shatter if they are big,that might absorb some of the impact,I don't know.

Get a Turbo on your Wagon and go from there.IF you do choose to upgrade to a bigger mog down the Road,having a Turbo'd Mog is going to make it more desirable.

The old School methods have their place when for what ever reason you don't have the modern gear on site.Lowering devices and pulley's speed up removals by virtue of smoother lowering of often larger peices than what is prudent with natural Crotch and Trunk wraps.

Wasn't me up there Rob. But,it you make your back cut below your Gob and when the Top is committed,power through the Hinge.There is no chance of the Top taking your Saw and you negate the "Twang" as you put it.

Really old Pine is great firewood.Smaller stuff is ok as well.As good as Birch anyway.

You can start out as self employed and being subbed in to a firm a few days a week.just doing normal stuff.Then fill in the extra days by calling round all the Tree firms in your area and asking.Or doing a bit of what ever to pay the bills.I used to call round the firms if I wanted a bit of Saturday work. I used to charge £120 for a Sat and £150 for a Sunday.This was over ten years ago and was Cash. You could provide the option of bringing your own Ground Saws,maybe a Pickup and even a Chipper.Just depends on who your market is. Reputation is your biggest advertisment.

You can advertise as a "Free Lance" anything mate.People on here are "Free Lance" groundies for when Crews need an extra Hand,Climbers of moderate skill that might charge less and be attractive to landscape gardeners for example. Then there are the "Arbor Stallions" who are capable of striking down upon any Tree like a Harbinger of Arboral Destruction.These people are few in number and charge alot. I freelanced a bit in London ten years ago,it was never my main gig and almost always on weekends.The best bits were working in different areas with new people and the worst was the lack of Bus and Train services if I was working a Sunday.

The Market changed. More people buy "Utes" to be a versitile Family type Car,than to carry Bales of Hay. When the Vehicles have depeciated enough.folks buy them to use for hard work.At that point the warrenty is expired so the manufacture isn't interested. Remember this? [ame] [/ame]

I bought one a couple of months ago in California.It can with a 16" Bar and Chain I thought that was a little optomistic for such a little Saw. I did a Muffler Mod on it (really easy to do with a Drill and a Saw File) re-tuned it and away I went.To say I am impressed by it is an understatement. Its perfect for Conni Hedge Topping,the long Bar is handy for cutting more than one Top at a time.Its not a 200T,but it was less than half the Price.So my 200T's get used half as much and the weight saving is a bounus.

Did you treat the Gortex before you wore it? You buy the Fluid at outdoor shops you get two Bottles.You wash the Garment with one to clean it,then wash it again with the other to waterproof it.

The Arb Market is at saturation point in the UK.There are many Colleges producing more graduates every year than there are jobs to have. With the recession shrinking peoples available funds there is less work to go round and less money to pay wages. If for example a huge Storm struck the UK,there would be more work than people could do,so employer's would have to pay more to tempt staff from leaving their current jobs. Wages would rise for the duration of the Storm Damage and subside there after.

Good advice that.If you have to buy cheaper to get started,have a goal of upgrading as soon as possible.

I bought a MS192 in the States,did a Muffler mod on it and re-tuned it.It pulls a 16" Bar well and is lighter than a MS200T.Good Saw.
