Approach it quietly with a Bin bag,fling it over the Bird House and rip it off the Tree.Then make a wee hole in it and blast it with Fly Spray.Done it plenty of times.

If you are tightening it up with a Hammer,eventually you will strip the threads either on the bolt or handled nut. The Chute clamp is a joke on Jensens.Even a 2ton £50K machine has a Clamp designed by Mattel.

The true reality of Cable Logging is,long periods of smooth operating with the occasional spectacular equipment failure or injury.And when accidents happen,its so fast you would be hard pressed to capture it on Camera.

Personally I think incidences of Tops splitting out comes down to inexpericance in general felling. Even an inexperianced faller should know never to use the same techniques on heavy leaning or weighted Trees as you might on more verticle examples.Much less up a tree where the stakes are so much higher. If you think there is a chance of it splitting out,then you should never consider taking a big top.
