  1. Shame about you not wanting a Jensen. There is a genuine front mount one on Earborist. TP´s are good,Farmi 260´s have a good name.Just stay away from the Farmi 140 and 160,I had a 160 and it was a complete waste of money. Apart from the Bearings in the Jensen you have, are there any other issues with it?
  2. I had a problem with Frogs Croaking all night and keeping me awake. So I poured 20L of used Engine oil into the Pond.Worked a Treat, you might want to try the same with the Moles?
  3. Thing is... You will attend courses to get the tickets, but to most employers they mean little more than you know the basics.More importantly you need experiance, years of it in fact before you will even be competent, then depending on your natural ability and how much you are prepared to push yourself you might, might be a good climber. This all depends on getting a job,and without experiance you will be another ticketed novice calling all the firms looking for a job that probably dosn´t exist for someone without experiance. If you are in a position to get free training, train in a feild that has a demand for workers.
  4. This industry is at saturation point with newly qualified climbers,I would strongly consider another career in a industry where there is a demand for new people. After getting yourself into a paid position you could do a few days "on the side" with a Treecrew and see if you like it. Sorry to piddle on your Chips, but now is probably the worst time to get into treework in the last 20 years.
  5. Nope, not had that problem. I preffer Visors, you are never without eye protection as long as you have a Helmet on.Also I have been hit in the face by a few Meteors from Chippers over the years, without a Visor I may not be as dashing and swave like I am today.
  6. Will they tolerate a Hand Grenade going off in your pocket?
  7. Here are a couple from a few years ago.
  8. Good fun to play with though,Shooting up old Engines with AP is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon.
  9. High winds would have put more torsional stress on that Tree than any imbalance that section felling it will produce imho. However climbing it would be second to straight felling it from what I can see. Chain and binder a few feet up and dump it.Just don't stand around and watch it go.
  10. If it had gone well he would have been well known in the Street.Because it went badly,he is well known around the World. What a Todger.
  11. Had one. Good machine,it got nicked but don't have a bad thing to say about it.Bit of a goofy draw bar set up on mine, but if you are towing it with vehicles of different hights the adjustable draw bar would be and asset.

    Harkie

I would like a Company to make some purpose made waterproof leggings for Climbing.I have tried a few brands and all have fallen short of the mark.
  13. That is a very tidy Truck indeed!
  14. 1000 Mile round trip to show off your Horses? I venture you need to get a grip.
  15. Horses cant tell you when they are sick, hurt, tired, fed up.You have to work them to get the job done and its not work that they want to do,its work they have been trained to do. You feed, water and groom them because they are your hobby and business. Why not get your family and freinds to pull logs out of the bush all day like the Horses do,then when you are fed and watered in the evening see how much "love" that feels like.Because you´ll be going out to do it again and again. Horses were used because there was nothing better, now that there are more humane and efficient methods, don´t attempt to validate your business. Give your Horses a choice.
  16. The Deer can run and live free.Your domestic animals cannot escape their life of misery untill you bullet them once they are worn out. Go buy a log skidder and do the job properly. Sadist.
  17. Rubbish. Poor Horses having to drag logs in the mud so someone holding a whip can post movies to impress people. Bet those "Horse Skidders" wished they could be in a Pony Club.A few twitches with a crop must beat having to drag logs. Sad.Sad.Sad.
  18. Sad to see animals exploited like that.Diesel prevents cruelty in my opinion.

    Axes?

Go to Biltima and buy one there. They are the same pattern as the Grunsfors and 30% the cost. You'll loose any Axe in the Bush long before you wear it out.
  20. Its been happening here for years.Totally ruins my mojo but I just have to get used to it.
  21. Fantastic. I am going to sell "Lawns of Love",grass tips gathered from the Mansions of Lawns featured in the Mills & Boon series of Books. I will claim they will attract wealthy men, improve your Bridge game and make your teeth grow back.
  22. I enjoyed the pictures,I don't miss climbing those farking things at all. Why were you wearing a High Vis Vest?Had your ground lost his Guide Dog?
  23. Sweet Josh!:thumbup1: Can I drive the truck under your float in the Mardi Gras?
  24. Get one of those Pole Saws that have a chainsaw head. Then you can reach up a bit higher.
  25. Some vital tools for the job in Sierra Leone?
