  1. ive got a 4wd canter short wheel base tipper very nippy with a turbo 4.5 litre engine but a bit rough in the cab off the beaten track.can carry 3 ton and tow 3.2 ton
  2. All jokes aside,it is very easy to become dehydrated and while its not likely to happen with a British summer plenty of fit healthy people over here in Aus have died out bush.some in less than 24 hours strangely someone also died recently in Tasmania by drinking too much water while out bushwalking
  3. i just bought a 2005 canter 4x4. A marked improvement on my old one can legally carry about 3 ton and will tow 3.2ton mines a short wheelbase and is very bouncy without a load on i think the latest model is rated to tow 3.5 ton
  4. The schaffer 2026 ive got is only 1250 wide has a seat and whilst it cant zero turn it will do a very tight 3 point turn if you have to plus no ply required.I am running turf tyres will also pick up/drag much bigger pieces than a dingo/boxer one truck i currently run is a 6 ton payload. tray width is about 2400 inside and can carry the loader and stumpgrinder side by side
  5. same thing happened to my 27hp kohler on the Laski.Stator flew to bits distributing magnet parts thru out the engine about 3 years ago.once i got all the bits out i have just ellected to charge the battery when it needs it.
  6. the best tool for any little loader is the BMG (branch manager grapple) hands down beats forks,4 in 1 buckets etc fantastic for feeding the chipper, loading logs over the side of the truck and placing them in the tray Most of the time i load logs into the rear of the truck held straight out in front of the loader:thumbup1:
  7. The Boxer a compact articulated loader will always do less damage than a skid steer
  8. i dont do much climbing any more mostly work out of a MEWP but a mini portawrap works ok for small lowering.just have to make sure that the rope is wrapped so the device wont twist around the wrong way.or use a swivel to stop that
  9. the hansa units fairly wide too the cs100 or a beau jeau would be better much more compact
  10. Great pictures 32 your very lucky been close to 42 here in the top end:thumbdown:

    Sad...

mate its the australian way to take the piss out of just about anyone who walks into a bar in the middle of nowhere.plus wearing lycra would have been a sight to behold regarding the fire.it is the hot season here at the moment and there are fires bloody everywhere.Mostly man made. Not all lit by indigenous persons.one of the more devastating fires recently was set by an off duty fireman(caucasian) Part of the aboriginal culture was to burnoff the bush as it made hunting animals easier and promoted new growth of plants,re juvinate the bush etc whilst most aborigines dont hunt anymore like they used to they still like to set fire to the bush. while i dont live in alice and havent been there most of the fires we see around here have been lit from the side of the road.from people flicking matches out window im not going to get into your other issue except to say that if you owned property and lived here for a period of time you soon have a different opinion. And from what ive heard Alice is far worse
  13. i think if a rapist on a life or indefinate sentence is in an open prison it means that they have run out of room in the other more appropriate prisons That means hes not the only rapist or worse in an open prison today
  14. what about a trailer lift.Nifty do a 23 metre version i have a 2006 17 metre one but it has not been without intensive problems:thumbdown:proberly mostly to do with the climate and the poor road conditions i love to buy a traccess 230 ($159000) or that cela dt24 ($?) but the price is not justifiable cela also do a dt21 21 metre version
  15. a cunning ploy to make all have Insurance tis the same over here
  16. whilst i have a couple of pairs of chainsaw trousers stretchy husqy and another brand Clogger summer weight pants most of the time it is too damn hot to wear them i was wearing until recently stretch air climbing pants with clogger chaps over the top problem is of the 3 pair of stretch air pants i bought (270 a pair) none lasted more than a year just ripped to pieces basically they went rotton:thumbdown: currently trying another cheaper lighter weight walking trouser with chaps over the top. time will tell if their any good but they are more comfortable in the present climate (above 38 degrees) than the other trouser
  17. i employed a labourer through a employment agency in 2006.they are supposed to do police checks on these people this guy looked at least 45(but was actually only 25 a typical meth head) worked well for two days and then did not turn up the next day. he had left a shirt in the truck so i went round to where he was staying only to be told that he had been arrested the night before for a sexual assault on a minor. turns out the bloke had a warrant out on him for a similar case in Queensland so much for the police check by the agency last time i used that agency
  18. Vermeer(the word) does have Dutch origins but Vermeer Manufacturing was stated by Gary Vermeer in Pella Iowa in 1947 USA
  19. nice butts.any idea why the mill is set up with the winches on opposite sides? I've never seen any other lucas mill set that way
  20. Currently use my 2026 schaffer loader with a branch manager grapple to feed the chipper.is very efficient.if loader will drag it chipper will take it.
  21. my loader a Schaffer 2026:thumbup: has oscillation and having put 1400 odd hours have only once nearly put the thing on its side.havining said that it is very easy to pick a wheel up whilst going round a corner ( with a load on ) or if on rough ground. the oscillation is really good on rough ground when back raking or floating the bucket for instance Any articulating loader will be more tippy when articulated just dont go yahooing around corners with the bucket up .take it easy and you'll never overturn one
  22. might want to look at a Schaffer loader instead.most models have a oscilating joint too
  23. over here i'll start a groundie on $30.if they show promise i'll pay $35 per hour
