  2. All waste removed from site, means all tree waste from the job, waste regs not so bureaucratic over here(yet) I avoid the local tip at all costs if i can,not only do you have to pay to tip its also a good place to get a puncture all the chip gets sold, the millable sections come back to my yard and get sawn up and the rakings go to the yard and eventually will go to tip when they get out of hand We recycle as much as possible:001_smile:
  3. my view is that once the client has accepted my quote with the words "all waste removed from site" the wood then belongs to me, prior to quoting i will ask the client if they want the chip or the wood, most people are glad to see the back of it unfortunatly alot of clients now are ellecting to keep the chip:thumbdown:
  4. what about an articulated mini loader:thumbup1: instead, does bugger all ground damage and can lift a great deal more
  5. doesnt have to be level only parallel, once the mill is setup you can easily skid one end round by hand to make final adjustments if you have to.Just have to make sure that there is no twist in the rails though.stand back and sight it Usually have to put a piece of ply under 1 corner of the base frame to get that rightbest to put the log on 8'' bearers so its easy to slide around too
  6. its our secret handshake:thumbup:
  7. nice,if your chasing winch rope Melbourne Rope and Splicing seem a good bet, they have a good website

  16. Good to hear theres been no problems:001_smile:.i talked to the importer here and he said they like to wait at least 1or so years before they bring a new model over to aus in case of issues.might have to go with yellow if thats the case
  17. Have you had any glitches on the green beast? I'm thinking of adding a titchy little chipper to my stable but all thats avaliable over in aus is disc type chippers which dont look like good units
  18. i ground a stump last week that a contractor thought he would be helpful by criss crossing it,they were up to 6'' deep cuts.i ended up ripping off 3 chunks violently with the grinder,1 which jumped up and hit the screen
  19. 23.75 ton.if i win do i get free shipping?
  20. I have a 250 amp transmig by cigweld and use co2,i have welded several truck trays and sides, with co2 the welding proccess could be described as being more dirty more spatter etc but its much cheaper than argon/mix, sounds like in the uk you dont pay bottle rental on pub gas?we have to over here. in a previous life i have used stick welders up to 400 amps and if you are just a casual user, mig is far easier than stick especially if your welding thin stock
  21. African Mahogany
  22. homeowner Insurance is a con, over here and i imagine the same over in the uk if your tree falls and squashes the fence and your nieghbours car, your insurance company pays to the fence only. anything on the other side is your nieghbours problem. all designed to make everyone have insurance on their homes
  23. usually within 20klm but we just did a job 550km away, nearly all on the crappiest road in the Kimberleys
  24. great looking bit of kit,any chance we'll see them in aus in the near future:thumbup1:
