  1. Very well put .
  2. I'd rather buy a scrapped one and build it myself than buying some one else's.
  3. My oh my what a lot of money ??
  4. Making sure both ends stay in the holding pouches in transport and when stripping back in is essential , I've seen people feed the line in a clock wise motion in to each corner and swear by it but personally I don't bother.
  5. May have lobbed it at the forwarder when it seized ! Tbh I didn't realise there was a problem with it until a few people pointed out they could not get the brake off... Just apply a lot of pressure on the bit that engages it and it is fine ....... Should really get around to fix it.
  6. Put a lot of pressure on the inside of the chain brake towards the starter pull side whilst disengaging, the mechanism just wear to the point it's hard to disengage... My older 560 does this and if any one picks it up who does not know the quirk thinks the saw is broken.
  7. Get a new maul and smash up some concrete with it and it's broken in, sharp is no good imo.
  8. Pay more attention !! The forest I don't think does a great deal I'm sure the dam saved a lot in the north Tyne valley and Tyne valley though . We are in the forest it floods despite being surrounded by stands of Sitka , the drainage put in actually for the trees probably encourages quicker run off !
  9. £488 inc vat on fr jones site £520 inc vat for a xpg not bad prices! I'm running an 8 pin on the 13" , not sure the auto tune likes it though, I probably use this saw the least but have a few weeks of thinning work coming up so will be its first time properly in the woods working with it to draw any conclusions, There was something I read on arbor site about keeping them on a 7 if changing to 3/8.
  10. There is a lot of Americans running them on 3/8 do a search on arbosite, Definitely not put any thing bigger than a 15" on it though. I'm tempted to give it a try but have a stack of 13" Oregon bars I like on 325 I got for free.
  11. Charlieh loves them !!
  12. You've tried them too then!! There used to be a fight for the kleins loading up in the morning the loser got these... I think that's probably why I barely used spikes for years 😬
  13. Opsal pads look a great option for the kleins which on a whole are not a bad spike, would love to try them with those pads! I think the worse spikes I tried were some honeys bros own brand that had a round gaff on them , proper crippling irons. Been on carbon geckos for a few years find them really comfy and minimal fatigue, never tried the Buckinghams but had bashins prior to the geckos and was glad to see the back of them.
  14. That's looks stunning !
  15. Nice work olly and the wires still intact!! I bet you could not wait to get some wind sail out of the anchor point on it!
  16. Noticed a few breaks in the kill switch wire on a saw would they be enough to stop the ignition from working ? Tried turning her over on a drill so I could really watch and there was no spark at all ,not even a weak intermittent one.
  17. Best of luck mate
  18. Thought you would be back for Christmas although Christmas in Berlin sounds a good crack , Just Dead wooding and climbing inspections on limes, Getting breezy and wet in Alnwick !
  19. You in Alnwick today Darrin?
  20. Don't see what the problem is with uk gun law either do you really need hand guns or semi automatic rifles over 2.2 ? Micheal Ryan lost a lot of people's fun but is it really necessary to own either of the two above weapons in your own home.
  21. I had on my chipper wheel clamps on each tyre and a head lock.. Also a chain concreted in that I put over the axle and two security bollards blocking the entrance which none of stood a chance against a cutting torch.
  22. Pleaching is training along wires I thought ..... Usually the trees will be flat or form tunnels.
  23. Nearly all your 61 mass murders since 1982 have been carried out with legally obtained fire arms ... What have criminals got to do with this ?
  24. Good thread , glad you are not letting the scum beat you.....
  25. I'm tempted Andrew... Need to replace one ms340 next year so will definitely be looking at the dolmar 6100.
