Yeah I get that Stevie I've cut plenty before and never had problems !! The pto falls out on flat ground now and still needs to be shorter ...Tom d will tell you that it can't be made to fit as he had to get an adapter for his igland on his alpine , the bottom link pins are too far back and the pto box to far forward for small tractors... Even though the winch is for a small tractor !

I paid that for mine second hand ten years ago, Keep looking at the 390's and trying to convince my self I really need one.

It's not the pto length or arms it needs an adapter I've been told this already I just need a pic of what others are running on there alpines so I can take it in to FMS and get one made up.

Does not solve the problem Stevie .... It needs to still be shorter when raising and longer when operating ! It pushes the winch to the side still when raising as its too long and when lowered spits the shaft out as its too short..any way I've tapped the pins out and put new splines in so its a normal full length pto that needs to be cut when the adapter is made.

Has any body got some pics they can share of an adaptor for an igland winch to fit an alpine ? We have a tiny igland that you think would fit straight on but no ! The pto was cut so short to avoid the shafts bottoming out that it slides out when on the deck so any answers to the problem would be great. Last pic shows how short the pto has ended up which still does not solve the problem !

I don't see why not ... For me I would choose the haas over hand ascenders all the time any way as I find the haas barely gives you any fatigue in comparison.

Endless loops are pretty horrible as chainsaw strops I've tried them,then there is the tear away that's not factored into them. ART positioner is far superior in performance and on really skinny stems you can't bring in the system and feel comftable like the positioner as the knot is on the other side of the spar.

Robert.S has a U900 tipper with a big hydraulic winch on the front also comes with a TP chipper, nice set up! :thumbup:

Truly spoken joe ,It has more relevance on an Arb site than half the threads of total rubbish that appear and seem to get more prevalent by the day.

You could sell it no doubt .... but it's not going to cover the costs of its removal.

Joe this is the typical forecast for us along the top of the Pennine way. it's done alright ...it's still waterproof just when new it would stand lashing hard rain all day long, now it's will do about half a day before it starts to come through ... But it's still better than a lot of others I've used and functional.

Mines entered its second year of service now , I would not say it was as waterproof as when it first arrived which made me think it needed treating but it would appear sypmatex does not .. I'm at a loss as to why it appears less affective and Worn a harkie top when the weather has been really bad but taken the hood off the Ventura which is new and seems to make a good ultimate water proof combo with the ancient harkie smock.

The very first job I did self employed I got done out of a lot of money, so very quickly learnt that dealing with self important people as in my case the local master of the hunt as he was that always give written quotes and do no work until written conformation especially dealing with parish councils and self important village Lord of the manor types , the knob end in question also told me after settling up which he only paid me half of what He owed was that people like me should be working for £100 a day...... I'm still not sure how he thought I payed for the track chipper rental or the other employer insurance ect I had but it was a good lesson in dealing with such people .. And I know the only reason he paid was because the landlord of his favourite pub who is a good friend refused to serve him until he did pay up. -

I would submit another invoice and word it that you will put the final price up 10% if they don't pay the full amount out standing within another month, I would say week but I know PC's have to get there and sign of cheques ect usually only once a month! Maybe they think you took payment in timber Jon ? -

How long have you waited Jon?? Most parish councils will be around a month waiting the ones I've worked for any way . But the first thing I would do is ring the parish clerk and find out why they won't pay you , there must be a reason ? -
My old G had sat for five years.. Possibly more parked under some trees offered them £100 for it a , brakes had seized solid but changed the fuel pump for an xr3i one that was why it had been parked up and it fired up got and mot was a great truck would go places my 90 never would until I replaced one of those hard to get 60's style fuses for the windscreen wiper on the Motorway with a nail and burnt the wiring out! Still ended up using it for skidding when the mot ran out and sold it for £1000 so was not a total loss but really wish I had kept it , great truck but rubbish engine and wiring.

Depends on wether or not you like mechanical devices , I've tried and sold my BDB so not a fan myself I've a liking for hitches and more than happy on the wrench.

Could possibly be wrong but it's possibly down to how many units are sold hence why 395's 3120's ect are still sold as they are not in the range of top selling saws the others don't sell enough saws to have too comply with the regs ?

I would like to try a 620 but until I do I can't take it seriously that it's better than a 560 , especially going by echo saws I've used in the past.
