  1. Awe cmon it does not look that bad mate
  2. 395 is fine on a 3/8 36" standard chain ,have rang up 100's of tonnes of hard wood with it , nice fresh ash that gums up your chain is no bother .... Would say it's noticeably quicker than an 880 on a 36" as well last time I put them side by side.
  3. The Sugi steel does not burr up as quick it's possibly slightly heavier in weight but then it just is a bit more heavy duty even though it's the lite version !I've had no issues with the sprocket ,the Oregon seized quite a few times and ended up a slack unpredictably Mess... Plus it looks better for posing pics
  4. They look great yve just ordered after seeing next weeks forecast!
  5. Same as Aiden ..36" Sugi lite bar is a lot stronger than the power match I had on before.
  6. Think they have more importance than ever for wild life , this year I've done more than I have in my career that have been specced in to work by surveyors and consultants than me suggesting it as a nice idea on monoliths or retrenchment prunes to clients.
  7. 2001 The uniforest is the only one that will bolt straight on with out an adapter or so I was told by Riko.
  8. AGT alpine tractor.. It has nothing to do with cutting shafts as it's physically impossible to raise the machine with the shafts any longer than shown but just wanted to know though how any one running an alpine and the same winch has overcome this.... Tom and Charlie who run alpine have had to have an adapter if any one could share pics of there's that would be great.
  9. Can you read ? Ffs
  10. Climbing equivalent to the tirols but a bit softer... Good boots maybe not as robust.
  11. Yes Jon lot wider than meindles , I have wide feet and no bother with the Tirol they take a lot of breaking in though.
  12. It looks pretty much fixed in that position mate, 6" sounds good. Cheers Tom.
  13. So just the bottom two Then tom how much further out do you recon ?
  14. Not sure mate , but I've tried every way possible of trying and it won't work properly , I did toy of removing the roll pin on the thicker shaft so the smaller spline could have an extra 2-3" but if the winch goes side ways under tension it will probably rip the pto box out the tractor when it hits the other shaft , and that's quite likely winching!!.. It would be fine in theory as long as the pto is lowered but It's too much of a risk worth taking....
  15. I was thinking that Charlie but the tajfun is probably different from the igland and may require a different adapter? I was thinking of using a cat linkage to save time fabricating but have no idea of what the adapter looks like , I can get my local workshop to make one up if we have an idea of what we are looking for !
  16. Yeah I get that Stevie I've cut plenty before and never had problems !! The pto falls out on flat ground now and still needs to be shorter ...Tom d will tell you that it can't be made to fit as he had to get an adapter for his igland on his alpine , the bottom link pins are too far back and the pto box to far forward for small tractors... Even though the winch is for a small tractor !
  17. I paid that for mine second hand ten years ago, Keep looking at the 390's and trying to convince my self I really need one.
  18. It's not the pto length or arms it needs an adapter I've been told this already I just need a pic of what others are running on there alpines so I can take it in to FMS and get one made up.
  19. Does not solve the problem Stevie .... It needs to still be shorter when raising and longer when operating ! It pushes the winch to the side still when raising as its too long and when lowered spits the shaft out as its too short..any way I've tapped the pins out and put new splines in so its a normal full length pto that needs to be cut when the adapter is made.
  20. Has any body got some pics they can share of an adaptor for an igland winch to fit an alpine ? We have a tiny igland that you think would fit straight on but no ! The pto was cut so short to avoid the shafts bottoming out that it slides out when on the deck so any answers to the problem would be great. Last pic shows how short the pto has ended up which still does not solve the problem !
  21. I don't see why not ... For me I would choose the haas over hand ascenders all the time any way as I find the haas barely gives you any fatigue in comparison.
  22. Got a lot of time for those choc chip marylands
  23. Endless loops are pretty horrible as chainsaw strops I've tried them, then there is the tear away that's not factored into them. ART positioner is far superior in performance and on really skinny stems you can't bring in the system and feel comftable like the positioner as the knot is on the other side of the spar.
  24. Robert.S has a U900 tipper with a big hydraulic winch on the front also comes with a TP chipper, nice set up!
  25. Truly spoken joe ,It has more relevance on an Arb site than half the threads of total rubbish that appear and seem to get more prevalent by the day.
