  1. There should be a public enquiry in to how any company can secure the publics money for the next 30 years , some thing worryingly underhand I feel at play.
  2. They don't look that cool .. I think the planners win that for me personally but the least warm and flexible apparently. If you did want a pair right now John you would have to go to oz or stateside, I hear tree stuff are looking at bringing them in to the uk soon though.
  3. Kin right mate. The groundy needs a medal or award ...I would be giving him a bonus this week 👍🏻
  4. Borrowed a pair of the arbor techs the other day and they are good trousers , had a few pairs of the extremes and would say I preferred the planner arborists although I probably got more wearing out of the extremes they are heavier and slightly not as flexible I would choose the arbortechs for climbing though, these new cloggers I may try next supposed to be the lightest and coolest saw trousers made ...
  5. I think one of my favourites for a groundy to equalise any pish taking or tricks is if you find a pigeon nest throw an egg and shout catch and watch the disappointment as they get egg on there face as it disintegrates in there hands.. make sure your not getting down for a while to sit with them in the cab if it's a ripe rotten one.
  6. Cool , I have 60m of pre brexit foreign cougar I have been saving and was thinking I should of got CE marked instead but a few people have said the same.. I like the formula I have at the minute.
  7. Lack of stretch ? Any one know what they have done to it to make it CE approved? I have a few hanks of it and would choose it over anything else as it's so less bouncy ,it does take a few climbs to bed in though.
  8. Last practical joke played on me by a groundy resulted in a set of timber tongs to his head and a lead around the wood until he promised to behave... good as gold afterwards.
  9. Have been stung once or twice personally I would not use folks unless I trusted them now or heard good things from people who have a clue. Most of the work You can do your self but it can get technical finding running faults...If in doubt "spud" on the forum does a mail service and I would trust Steve 110% in his judgment in tuning ,servicing, rebuilds and repairs , he's certainly found faults on saws that have left other so called experts dum struck on my saws , it was handier when I lived 3 miles away instead of 300 though but I still send him the odd saw.
  10. My mk 6 has been one of my favourite transits.Has not rotted any thing like the mk5-4's I've owned and has racked up a lot of miles with out many real issues .. dual mass fly wheel and starter moters being the exception.
  11. I brought one of these about 8 months ago after leaving our usual Stihl blower back at the yard....with a mower shop around the corner this looked worth a punt! more power than a br 300 also with a two year warranty and at half the price at the time.. I've had one fuel cap replaced under warranty and it gives me a warm smug glow when I use it that I didn't give any money to stihl used it today on wet leaves on a heavy hedge reduction with the lawn being on the edge of a woodland and it left it pristine!
  12. What do you want for it Carl?
  13. Have been using a Dmm green ring on a double alpine. I still like a pinto tie off though and for the most will use it as it's the quickest to set from the canopy although with ring there is less retrieval issues it just takes longer to set up... I will on odd occasions just use a dmm revolver, I know it's not designed for that use but it fits perfect !
  14. Ive had brand new fishing gear still treated by NZ customs , they don't give a **** though when you come back in to the UK!
  15. Dmm ultra 0 or dmm any thing others just feel tinny and wrong in your hands.
  16. Cut it off below the metal rings and use an xrse on the ring to a 4srt chainsaw boot footloop and it's a much easier to clip on and go.
  17. Is that price with all the accessories shown in the vid? Looks a good machine , I have the older Norwood lumbermate 2000 and it's a good simple easy to use machine but there are a few bits on that like the saw guides ,jacking feet and some of the new log dogs I could see would massively Benefit my machine.
  18. And thanks for that should of thought about the Diesel engine! I've never tuned a diesels but spent a lot of time putting charge coolers and bigger intercoolers on rs's in some hope it would keep temps down and was always considered a good base point for any further tuning.
  19. I need to do that as well after breaking the clip, cut off the crappy foot loop and put an xrse on that end to clip on a 4 SRT foot loop , was a pita and should of got the none built in foot loop version from the Start.
  20. I know , it's shocking ! two 4 day weeks in row now as well to get the last out the fishing season , definitely part time me
  21. Better than the mk1 haas, the extra 18" gives it no flat spots like other knee ascenders which feels weird at first but it's definitely the most efficient out there , mine did fall apart the other day though went back together no bother though.
  22. Aye that's what i mean keep the waste gate closed longer... been down the pub after a fishing session so wondering if any of that made sense... which it clearly does not ! I will argue though the Benefit of the intercooler is to keep the temps down so you can run more boost.
  23. Only if you up the boost on the turbo though.... I've Seen plenty of engines with big intercoolers fitted on dynos making less power because of faulty actuators or the owner scared of running more boost, theoretically you would get more lag = less power
  24. You can add more fuel by playing around I have no idea how but with turbos the power is all in how much boost the engine can handle ,the intercooler just means you can run more psi =boost on your turbo keeping the charge temps low so the engine does not prematurely detonate. More turbo boost = more power. Just fitting an intercooler won't give you more boost it just lowers the charge temps so you can. Old cars like the Renault 5 gt turbo you fitted a bleed valve off the actuator pipe or fitted a 31 actuator so it could be adjusted , the actuator on all turbocharged engines controls how much turbo boost is produced. So say you get to 0. 5 psi boost the actuator spring is set to open the turbo waste gate at that pressure , other wise the boost builds up and blows your engine, the turbo waste gate opens and dumps excess pressure in accordance to what the actuator is set at ...You can adjust the actuator to keep the waste gate to stay open longer adding more psi or another crude way of doing it is fitting a bleed valve for about £15 that bleeds off pressure to the actuator spring so it stays open longer and gives you more boost= more power.
