  1. My guess would be a form of Twybil for cutting out mortises in large timbers.
  2. Yes I work for Howick Trustees part of their two man woodland management team. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  3. You could try the Cottage Inn Dunstan, 10 min walk from Craster web site is http://www.cottageinnhotel.co.uk, if all else fails plenty of campsites along the coast towards Seahouses but this area is very popular come school holidays and spaces/ rooms could be limited. 4. The Allbut log grabs are solid, I got one 8 years ago for my loader and is still solid and never bent in all the years of heavy use in hardwoods, however the spacing on the lower tines won't fit into a standard pallet due to the thickness of the steel and the independent top arms give a good hold on the timber being lifted, certainly can't fault mine I would highly recommend it. 5. The last time I had to replace a winch cable on my old boughton I used a company up in Scotland called A&B services they supplied me with plenty of advice and a cable that stood up to a lot of very heavy use and when it came to terminating the cable after finally snapping the first 10ft I installed a wedge and eye socket that I think was made by a company called Crosby also supplied by A&B services the other one to try would be JP Wilsons as they deal with many manufacturers, I hope this may help. 6. Done, let him come and have his say! If you don't like what he says then don't listen. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  7. They left no clues, cut the locks and took them away and it looks like they pushed it by hand along the frozen road so when it melted no tyre tracks were left only a small pile of wood chipper where it I'm guessing was loaded into a van as for arbsafe i am about to look into that. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  8. In case anyone does get offered the chipper the serial number is C35A7ES143092 it has been registered with both timberwolf and the local dealer network as stolen so although unlikely it may get flagged up. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
  9. Just a quick note, I have had my Timberwolf 150 chipper stolen last night from our yard in Northumberland although it was secured behind locked gates and other vehicles they cut the locks and pulled the vehicles out the way, I suspect its long gone. Just thought I would let people know that there on the rob again.
