    Dying Fir

Nice and slick as always reg , glad you put this up as I had my first big silver fir today , a split multi stemmed 40 m + to wind firm/monolith I guess and you looking that comfy on a dying one put me well at ease. 👍🏻
  3. What do you recon eggs , have no idea really just needs to keep 4-5 trucks clean weekly along with other gear around £500 or Will we need to up the budget to get some thing decent ?
  4. Need some advice on what petrol pressure washer folks are running , our karcher has just packed up and to be honest would never buy another as its been total **** ! The water supply is fed off a large IBC so there is no mains or water so virtually no pressure.
  5. Ended up taking the hopper off , should be easy to refit tomorrow when the parts get here hopefully, I think the anvil definitely needs doing like but don't have a spare.
  6. Ha no Mick I guess not , but it is a bonus .. to be honest I would not put it in ours any way seeing the crap the gets in to the chipper and tractor tanks and filters.
  7. Can you run a Landy cherry picker on red ?
  8. Good to know bob thanks.
  9. Is it an easy task removing the bottom roller ? Looking at if the hopper is removed it would it be easier task at the moment I've taken the moter off and the spline on that side I'm kind of stuck now ! Looks like the three bolts that sit in the spline and join the roller have snapped so either way it has to come out so any tips would be great , cheers mat

    So Fed Up

Hi Jennie about half way in to my career I completely lost interest , hated it ,infact the weather and dealing with the general public mostly is what did me in so I quit took a month out on redundancy pay as the company owner was changing at that time and said it was the least he could do for being his lead climber for a good few years any way after looking for work and finding none apart from joining the army ! I did a days work in a factory, day two I didn't go back and within a week I was back working as a lead climber for another tree company again.. I really enjoyed it this time but within 6 months I had gone self employed and honestly would say it was the best thing I ever did for many reasons. I think you need to try some thing else to maybe appreciate what you have or figure out what you can do. Hope it works out.
  13. "I was the most productive climber in England and now a whole borough of trees are £@(&ed " was my favourite line.. very true though.
  14. Poly tunnel wind mesh stuff makes a good screen, with metal pins.
  15. One is nice n bouncy the other makes you live the dream.
  16. Thanks for putting that up James , good to see it action finally.
  17. There should be a public enquiry in to how any company can secure the publics money for the next 30 years , some thing worryingly underhand I feel at play.
  18. They don't look that cool .. I think the planners win that for me personally but the least warm and flexible apparently. If you did want a pair right now John you would have to go to oz or stateside, I hear tree stuff are looking at bringing them in to the uk soon though.
  19. Kin right mate. The groundy needs a medal or award ...I would be giving him a bonus this week 👍🏻
  20. Borrowed a pair of the arbor techs the other day and they are good trousers , had a few pairs of the extremes and would say I preferred the planner arborists although I probably got more wearing out of the extremes they are heavier and slightly not as flexible I would choose the arbortechs for climbing though, these new cloggers I may try next supposed to be the lightest and coolest saw trousers made ...
  21. I think one of my favourites for a groundy to equalise any pish taking or tricks is if you find a pigeon nest throw an egg and shout catch and watch the disappointment as they get egg on there face as it disintegrates in there hands.. make sure your not getting down for a while to sit with them in the cab if it's a ripe rotten one.
  22. Cool , I have 60m of pre brexit foreign cougar I have been saving and was thinking I should of got CE marked instead but a few people have said the same.. I like the formula I have at the minute.
  23. Lack of stretch ? Any one know what they have done to it to make it CE approved? I have a few hanks of it and would choose it over anything else as it's so less bouncy ,it does take a few climbs to bed in though.
  24. Last practical joke played on me by a groundy resulted in a set of timber tongs to his head and a lead around the wood until he promised to behave... good as gold afterwards.
  25. Have been stung once or twice personally I would not use folks unless I trusted them now or heard good things from people who have a clue. Most of the work You can do your self but it can get technical finding running faults...If in doubt "spud" on the forum does a mail service and I would trust Steve 110% in his judgment in tuning ,servicing, rebuilds and repairs , he's certainly found faults on saws that have left other so called experts dum struck on my saws , it was handier when I lived 3 miles away instead of 300 though but I still send him the odd saw.
