  1. I use Easy Books, Mac only but that won't be a problem for you. Dirt cheap too, no monthly fees.
  2. I agree completely, far too much hassle running something on an I license.
  3. I've got a 42" bar on my 660, really good quality.
  4. Here's mine.

    Id test.

    Toxicodendron vernix?
  6. Not impressed with them, soles are thin and very flexible. One of my lads had a pair when they came out, his soles split and fell apart after about three months and mine are starting to do the same.
  7. Put both handsets in the washing machine on a wool cycle, all your saved data will leach out of the old one and trickle into the new one.
  8. Peter

    Stihl 881?

No, they use a special chain with double ended cutters, you run it one way with one saw and then the other way with the other saw, like a 2 man cross cut.
  9. I've got a uniforest 1500 hardox, it's pretty lightweight compared to my old pulp grab, but I'm only running it on a Palfinger lorry loader crane so it's very light duty really. If I wanted something heavy duty I'd look at hultdins, cranab, or loglift.
  10. I bought mine in 1999, still on the original gaffs, just changed the top pads. I like to sharpen little and often.
  11. Bamboo is fine in a nice sharp disc chipper. Drum chippers can get into trouble more easily with the stringy stuff.
  12. Linus at ALG. ALG Finance
  13. On timber haulage? Can't imagine that being a popular choice with the drivers.
  14. There are so few 8 wheelers left, trying to get hold of one is next to impossible.
  15. Well, worst case scenario from the hauliers point of view is drop trailer, at roadside, load lorry, swap load onto trailer, reload lorry rehitch and away. Bit of a faff but not your problem. To be fair you can get a 6 wheeler and drag in more tight spots than an artic, as the trailer doesn't cut in behind like an artic trailer does.
  16. Payload will vary depending on the unladen weight. max gross weight on 6 axles is 44 tonnes, most 6 wheeler and drag combos will weigh in around 17/18 tonnes depending on what crane is fitted and type of bunks etc. Not much to choose between drawbar rig and artic really.
  17. Yes, much better. I bought a secondhand Karcher 601 from a dealer,f ully reconditioned for £800. Main thing is to store it somewhere frost free, the amount of use it gets, an hour or so a week, it will go indefinitely.
  18. It would never be completely horizontal, it wouldn't be able to lift the body at all. Vertical is best for getting the most lift, but it could start from any angle. If it's a trunnion mount with a ball and socket fitting on top then it's designed to start from horizontal. However you fit it make sure the body doesn't rest on the ram in the fully lowered position, when it comes down the body should rest on the subframe and the ram should retract another 25mm or so.
  19. Got tape, our family business from 85-08 involved polytunnels, my job as the youngest/lightest was to climb on top and tape from the outside. We used to get 6-8 years from visqueen covers, one was left on so long that when we finally stripped it it just shattered into fragments. Shame the quality isn't there still.
  20. Oh well, it's on now so not much I can do about it.
  21. Visqueen lumisol diffuse is what I put on our tunnel. Seems ok so far, first season with it though.
  22. The road tows arrive minus the axle, and get fitted with UK spec running gear, the U.S. Spec aren't road legal here.
  23. You can put an ibc on a spill pallet.
  24. Who is running the apprenticeship scheme and can they offer advice? On another note I contract out my payroll, they do all the paperwork and all I do is make the actual payments each month. Makes it very simple and only costs about £15 a month.
  25. Appealing for non determination could help in the long run though, if lots of applications are going overdue, and a number are going to appeal that could help prioritise TOs over other things. Fortunately not been a problem in my area, my local TO is happy to do site meetings where appropriate, and usually turns applications around quicker than the 8 weeks. The biggest holdup recently has been the registration team, who were running a week behind.
