  1. Would it have helped to put a rigging block up both legs? It would have compressed the union
  2. The wraps and braids DO make a difference as they can increase the loading (less of them ) or decrease it (more of them) on the top of the hitch. Length of cord & relative cord length also factors. Diameter of cord, type along with rope selection all change things The performance of the hitch is truly a sum of it's parts
  3. The number of wraps turns etc has everything to do with the behaviour of the hitch. Less will be "more sporty" to use your phrase & less likely to grab without some setting. More will be more dependable but with greater friction
  4. Nice boot but I wore the soles out in 9 months below the balls of my feet. Abrasion from dragging I think
  5. Such finesse !
  6. Do you need irata or tower climbing & rigging tickets for the job?
  7. Who cuts close to there legs & thinks that chainsaw trousers will protect them?
  8. Astra van, Williams harness, 3 strand & a 254
  9. Too bouncy to be practical Mike. If you want a narrow rope have you tried Samson velocity? It's the smallest in the hand of the 11.1mm ropes IMO
  10. Well produced vid
  11. Big thanks to those who rescued him for a start!!!
  12. Guess your in the no LOLER brigade them. Too macho for all that H&S crap no doubt
  13. That is a nice looking honeybros splice Rob.....
  14. Nice work !
  15. You only need to have your tickets etc when you want some of there money.
  16. Could you please share the data as it sounds invaluable. Thankyou
  17. There is no control of when & where a sj or Lj self tends however a v.t. may never do so Selecting the system for you is experience & preference not fashion.
  18. This government may be many things, but stupid is not one of them. It has been a nice diversion to bigger stories
  19. As an enplyee you complain about critical issues - through a legal outlet eg a union you are vilified by a Tory government & press. If you don't complain when there real legitimate issues your screwed. What then? For those who say - make them self employed, no paid hold, sick pay etc - go get a bloody job. You obviously are not in a happy position so change it as opposed to complaining that someone else earns more money than you do. Without people making us aware of problems how can we progress? Oh I'm sorry we have to put-up & shut up, suffer in silence & let those that choose to exploit the system (from chavs to bankers) reap the rewards.
  20. Hope it's not up your back as it would look like you were in the sheep fields during tupping season
  21. Costs too much money. No benefits just hard labour & pay them a wage if they deserve it. Hunger makes man eager to work for a living.
  22. When will people understand that if you don't have the balls to stand up & complain & act if you need too then you will be trampled irrespective how hard you work. Not brain surgery folks
  23. With a 16" you need time lapse photography to record the cut!
  24. Yours are sensitive to most things female I bet mr Collins - spaniels & sheep included knowing you
